And not one of those players is a CAM for us. Seriously, how often does management of a top club force their coach into a formation change that he didn't ask for by selling his starting XI CAM, and not buying a replacement? How often does this happen.

I have faith we'll still have a decent season, but it's incredibly frustrating to see that we're basically 1 signing away from being a fantastic team again this year, and our management basically saying that no one is available even though apparently "money is not an issue."

In the end, for me the most incredible thing is that we as a club (the coach, the menagament, the fans) have been aware of the AM issue since September 2014. That's 12 months. Since then we've been deploying Vidal in that position and now we aren't using anyone there. Allegri said on many ocsasions that is not Vidal's natural position and that we need new AM.

The fact that after 12 months and 120 million spent on the market we don't see a solution to this problem is alarming.

We seem to identify priorities but don't act on them. That is the main difference beetwen Marotta and Moggi. As much as I like Marotta he still lacks that something Moggi had. He delivered in crucial moments when pressure was on him an the rest of the team.

I've been quiet all Summer but the pressure on Marotta is bigger with every day passing. We need a player that will jump into the staring 11 the day he comes. I can't see Morata - Mandzukic attack work and I hope we won't leave creating on Pogba's shoulders just because he asked for #10.

Hey, PI, I honestly think we're gonna sign Draxler.

If we do this, I'll be happy. I don't know that Draxler is a top AM, or whether he'll just be an injury prone player, or so on... but the talent and potential is there, and he can definitely play as a very good LWF, which means we have even more tactical versatility for switching between a 4-3-1-2 and a 4-3-3. At the very least it fills our CAM need with a player that has potential to be World Class. I think it's a risk worth taking.

Completely agree with you.

I remember Conte using half a season to integrate Llorente his first season. Well, the Llorente-Tevez partnership started working eventually but then we were already out of the UCL. Last year Allegri did the same mistake with Morata, using way too much time to integrate him and we almost crashed out of the group stages. Eventually Morata started and the rest is history.

We should get a player capable of going straight into the starting 11, especially when spending 27-30 m on that player. We don't have time for these adapting periodes early in the season.

Now that we're obviously in a tough CL group and the challengers in Serie A have improved, im not sure if we can get away with a slow start.

If Mandzukic is in the centre we can very easily play 4-3-3with Morata on the left wing. He played that position many times for Real Madrid and for their B team, and had some very good games. It's pretty obvious we could play 4-3-3 with a more traditional winger like Cuadrado on the right and a more free role for Morata on the left with the ability to cut in. Especially considering Sandro is a beast behind him, and Pogba has always had a tendency to play out wide left. Easy peasy to see that version of a 4-3-3 could work very well.

How the heck anyone can ignore the obvious contradictions in his statements over the summer is beyond me. He says the exact opposite of what he previously said just about every other week. It's irritating to say the least.

We can play a number of formations dependent on situation and opponent. 3-5-2 would be an option for some games, as would 4-3-1-2 with Pereyra as an AM for others. I'm advocating tactical versatility. Not pigeonholing us into a 3-5-2 exclusively because of Dybala. Dybala is nowhere near the player he would need to be for us to play that formation just because of him. Maybe one day he will be, but he's not there yet. 4-3-3 better suits multiple other players. Licht at RB, Sandro at LB instead of LWB, Cuadrado at RWF instead of RWB.

Even a 4-2-3-1 with Morata on the left, Dybala in the hole, Cuadrado on the right, and Mandzukic in the centre forward role would be better than 3-5-2

I can't believe that at the start of this mercato, a lot of people would've been disgruntled had we sold Vidal and replaced him with someone like Oscar, yet most of us right now are over the top that Draxler will happen. The resignation of being a poor Juventino.
