I think that this summer we have an opportunity that we need to seize. Alot of attacking midfilders are seemingly available with almost no teams intersted in buying them. (Draxler, Goetze, Isco, Debruyne, Nasri, Etc ..) Things might change next year and then it will be too late.

Yes, no doubt. Vidal was like our 5 or 6 best player last year
Agreed. Vidal had a disappointing campaign. Disappointing based on what was expected of him due to his former seasons as a MVP.
The management might have noticed this and cashed in on him to avoid another poor season and a heavy decrease in value. If Vidal is disappointing for Bayern this season I will bow for Marotta for getting €40m while he could!

Mertens or Callejon anyone? Both staying at Nipples? I'd take Mertens for the AM role tbh.
Not sure why people on this forum want Mertens as their AM. The guy is a winger. A good one at that, but definitely a winger. IMO the same goes for Callejon, who I think is slightly better than Mertens as well.

It's not like Pereyra plays in the middle all the time. Drifting out wide is pretty usual for an AM. He played under Benitez in the middle too. He's got a decent pass and shot. I could see him working in such setup.

Oh Lord, sick of people who haven't even sold a matchbox in their lives, judging and criticising multimillion deals, without having the slightest clue how the market operates.
How about people who have never managed in their life criticizing managers?

Or people who have never played professionally in their lives criticizing and judging players?

Also does your logic apply only to Juve, or are people allowed to criticize the transfer dealings of other clubs, but not of Juve's. I have a strong feeling I'll find posts of yours laughing at or criticizing rival teams transfers.

Another thing to consider is that he only lasts for 60 minutes a game.

But at least with criticising managers and players you can see what has happened. If you've watched football for 20 years, presumably you know at least the basics of the game. With such deals you know pretty much nothing.

LOL! Stop the crap , how can u claim Mertens would be good as our CAM , just wtf r u talking about , if we should consider other options than it will be Pereyra which we already have in our team , he is better than Mertens.

Mertens is a big-game flop , missing very important penaltys and wasting crushial goalscoring chances in critical games. Thats the guy we discussin here ?
STOP starting stupid discussions about OUT OF CONTEXT players , his name has nothing to do here.

I know they are friendlies and mean absolutely nothing but we definitely look slow to get up and down the pitch and lacking that bridge from the back to the front of the team.

IDK if Draxler is the answer, but we really need anything at this point.

I feel the loss of Tevez will be the hardest to swallow. As ppl said Vidal was poor last year compared to the other years at Juve, especially in big games in the CL. But Tevez really brought us something special that we didn't have since Del Piero's prime and when Nedved was here, that determination to fight through it all and get the result no matter what. Watching him on Boca hurts :frown:

I think we should try to convince Berardi to come, forget Draxler.

Mertens is a good substitute player. Alot of heart, yeah, but not so good when playing against fresh defenders, or when its not a counter attack.

At Belgium it was a good showcase of that. Mertens starting, was allways mediocre. Him getting subbed on later, was usually excellent.

Yet he's one of the best players for Napoli. He and Anderson are the best LWs in Serie A..
