Good in the attacking phase? Hopefully better than licht inregards to crossing
Even i can cross better than Licht. Come on.

Danilo went for 32M with 1 year left. Good luck negotiating with Porto

And Llorente has his value of 10-15M that can be put somewhere more pressing
Danilo was the sought after one. Was a starter for the National team and is younger. 2 completely different situations.

But yes, Porto is a bitch when selling. If they really want Llorente i don't see us paying more than 20M.

I think he's more than decent offensively. And well, defensively, you can't find much better around. To find a fullback as good as Asamoah is defensively, and great in attack, is rare. So unless this Porto dude is prime Zambrotta, it would be a waste to sign him, imo.
Asamoah is definitely the best defensively.

But attacking I don't think he's great at all. When he played as wingback, and he did for a long time, he could have shown much more offensive power / aggressiveness. Litch was much more profilic than him.

Paying 20M+ for an LB is not an opportunity, it's normality. We can do this next year and every year

LB
Evra
Asamoah
Padoin

RB
Lichtsteiner
Caceres
Isla(Padoin)

AM (4-3-1-2)
-

LW (4-3-3)
-
It's an opportunity because normally he'd only leave Porto for 35M + and for Madrid/Barca/Real/EPL on huge wages.

Now his contract is expiring, Porto wants Llorente. If we don't sign him now, we very likely won't in the future. He's a complete LB, he's also good defensively.

he was always like that, moves and creates a lot, cant finish to save his life
yes but he's involvement is starting to wane

At the world cup, i tought he was very good. He really disappointed me during the coppa.

My ideal formation of argentine would be Tevez or aguero on top, with messi(cam) , di maria (lw) and lavezzi(rw) behind him

Mascherano and something on the midfield

This is, if true, a very interesting situation.

I think we're on a position similar to Arsenal the year they signed Özil. Was an AM their main objective? No, they already had Cazorla ans probably Arteta and Rosicky as backups. Did they got him? Yes. Do they regret it? I don't think so. They found him a way into the lineup and he improved substantially the quality of their starting XI. He was an opportunity of adding WC quality to their team, they took it.

Alex Sandro, as the Brazilian crew states, seems to be a very well rounded LB, WC even.

I'm one of the many that only see Asamoah as a LB now, due to how our squad is composed. But I gotta say that if getting Alex Sandro is within our possibilities, I think we must take him. We may don't need him now, but we will, next year Evra will most probably be gone. And then there's the prospect of Pogba leaving the same summer. I think that opens up a space in the squad, since Asamoah could be moven up to the midfield, we'd be left without a LB in this case scenario.

For me we gotta make this happen if it's true, Llorente + €10-15M would be a sweat deal for a 24yo WC LB.

I dont see it like some of u. This is a unique opportunity to lay hands on a kick ass leftback for a decent cash outlay. I dont look at is as we hav evra and asamoah so no use for sandro. I prefer look at it as - among the three, which can provide that added dimension to our teamplay as we charge ahead to obtain trophies. He certainly is a better option than asamoah. Evra has been decent but getting on in age so it would b nice if we solve that LB now.

I agree for a 10+Nando swap would be very nice, don't disagree with that. Still feel a creative attacker would round off our squad nicely. Sure we can get away with using Dybala/Pereyra/Vidal as non traditional 10s but with our industrious midfield a true playmaker would thrive behind any variation of our strikers.
