Some 'News' about Firmino.

Hoffenheim came out talking about a possible sale of Firmino in summer. There were reports lately about Arsenal keeping close eye on him that led to Gisdol commenting on that subject.

These reports claiming that offers below 30m€ would directly go into the trash can.

"Altogether these numbers are crazy, but the market justifies such numbers. And if u have real good players, then u have to fetch as much money as the market enables."

So prob 30m€ plus some add-ons/bonuses..Hoffeinheim often like to have 10% share for resale for example.

Arsenal and some other heavyweights obviously interested. Maybe Juve is one of them. ;)
Walcott Ozil Sanchez Cazola Rogisky Chamberling Cambell Gnabry Ramsey..... they have too many attacking midfielders!

Bidding war with Premier League clubs....

Yeah,not happening.

There's no such thing as 'if he chooses us'..There's simply a lot of stupid money at stake nowadays especially in the PL which has witnessed monstrous growth financially. We just cant compete with the stupid money market.

We could match probably what arsenal would offer him.

@CrimsonianKing in a brazilians players point of view which league is better epl or serie a
That answer is quite obvious, no?

BUT i think there are a few exceptions, not only Brazilians but South Americans in general... Some might prefer Italia for many reasons. Communication; Italian being a language that's easier to master. Adaptation; a similar culture and lifestyle. Or simply because many of their countrymen became legends in Italia in the past.

Now, if you ask me about Firmino. I think if we can come up with the same amount Arsenal intends to pay, we have a better chance. I don't see how he would choose them over us. Of course i couldn't say the same if Chelsea or United joins the bidding fight, he'd easily pick them.

This guy is no world class player, no doubt other clubs will offer him more wages then we would but it's not like anyone will offer him €5m, and even if someone did, we could potentially match that. I do think we're an attractive destination for many aspiring world class players since we can guarantee Champions League (who in PL can offer that apart from City and Chelsea?), a starting spot (competition with Pereyra) and Trophies (Serie A almost a given).

This is all fine and dandy but we arent going to 'match' anything.

If we for example sat at 25m refusing to go a penny above that whilst you have Arsenal and Liverpool barge in and offer 40m from nowhere,i know where he'd be heading to.And its not like the gap between us and those said clubs are big.Firmino is only like 22 and he can always use an Arsenal or a Liverpool as a stepping stone to Real or Barca.

Don't know about United, especially if they miss out on CL once more. Unless you mean they'd outbid us, then of course, but if we're offering the same wages and fee, I'd actually be rather optimistic about him picking us.

True but i said United in terms of brand name, story of the club and etc... They're still filthy rich and sooner or later will be competing in Europe again. I It's not far fetched to think some players could pick them over us.

Arsenal on the other hand are just losers. I could see no other reason for someone to want to go there except for the money.

Since when a Hoffenheim player costs 35mln?
Since a player from Tottenham cost 100mln. Modern Football to ya.
