Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool target Claudio Marchisio IN TALKS over move to England
CLUBS from the Premier League have enquired about Claudio Marchisio's availability ahead of a summer move, according to his father, Stefano.

The midfielder played a key role in Juventus securing a domestic double this season and started Saturday's Champions League final against Barcelona.

The Italian has frequently been tipped for a move to England with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all reported to be monitoring his availability.

Juventus are expected to sell a midfielder this summer with the 29-year-old, Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal all been links with exits.

And Marchisio's father hinted his son would be open to a move, revealing he had received calls from English and Bundesliga clubs.

"The ball is in the Old Lady's court," Marchisio Snr. said.

"I don't think they'll let a player like him go... but if we don't find an agreement, we're going to look elsewhere.

"I have received many calls from the best clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga."

 we're going to have no midfield left, all of them will be in the BPL within the next few months.

What about Lucas Moura is he unhappy at PSG?
id take him. but i imagine he would be too expensive for us. if he leaves, then EPL is the destination, since hes not good enough for Real/Barca

Now, signing an AM will be extremely hard.

There are few good ones in the world right now.

De Bruyne is clearly staying at Wolfsburg and will leave for a 50M + transfer.

Oscar isn't great, but his cost is also 50M + and Mourinho is not giving him up.

Coutinho is also out of reach. The same for Eriksen. They are only leaving for 40M +.

Vazques is not good enough and after Dybala Palermo will ask for too much.

Lyon is a tough negotiating team and they will probably keep Fekhir for one more year. After that he'll leave for EPL for 40M +. Probably out of reach as well.

Sneijder is washed up.

Callhanoglu or whatever his name is, who is a German who plays in Germany and probably won't leave for Serie A.

This leaves us with the Firmino option. He plays in Germany for a long time in a medium club, probably would like to get out of there. He's from Brazil so probably would be willing to go to Juve.

So the only good and realistic opition I see is Firmino for 25/30M. And I'm not really sure how good this guy is.
Forgot about Reus?

Honestly I'd rather have 2 new attacking fullbacks than an AM. We need width more than creativity, specially if Tevez stays.

The importance of fast fullbacks who can be offensive weapons is vastly underrated. You look at the undisputed top 3 teams of the world - Barca, Madrid, Bayern. They probably have the top 6 attacking fullbacks of the world.

If you keep the current team and add 2 great world class attacking fullbacks, this goes another level. We desperately need width, specially with a no winger scheme.

Who would I go for? I don't really follow much apart from Italian football. Probably Alex Sandro and Darmian. Splash 50M on these 2 guys, keep our core players, sell Ogbonna / Caceres / Llorente.

Buffon - Darmian, Barzagli, Bonucci, Alex Sandro - Marchisio, Vidal, Pogba - Tevez - Dybala, Morata

bench: Neto - Licht, Rugani, Chiellini, Evra - Asamoah, Sturaro, Khedira, Pereyra - Berardi, Zaza
You need width to supply to whom exactly? No one is scoring headers on this team so its basically low crosses...teams with width have strikers who have aerial capability.

actually u need width because no width congests the middle of the pitch and teams can then figure out how to nullify your movement.

barca dont have tall strikers and they have amazing width and fullbacks

width stretches opponents, nobody wants us to have classic ol' fashioned width I.E 2 generic wingers feeding some lump in the box.But we need to be able to hurt opponents from all areas.

Look at Barca against us, forgetting how great they are as a team, the simple move of Messi > Neymar ripped us apart. We obviously can't get a Neymar but any decent wide player can receive the ball in wide areas and get at the opposition from an awkward angle would be great to have. Whereas we have Licht who can't cross, can't take men on and isn't particularly great at passing.

Not his fault, he's a full back after all. But we'd benefit massively from more quality width.

Still , if he gets more tactically aware he could be a beast imho .
He could be

But I genuinely don't really know if he can or not. Haven't watched loads of him but i've watched enough to come to the same conclusion as most people that he has the physical qualities and even the technical ones. But his decision making is crap. The sort of player for 15-20M you'd take a gamble on and maybe get a really good reward. But he'd probably cost double that, which is too much of a risk.
