a scumbag hedge fund manager shorted some gamestop stock hoping the company would go bankrupt. So he borrowed shares and sold them at a price. He then started talking shit on GameStop to lower the price. Once he lowered the price, he could then buy all the borrowed stock he sold for cheaper, give it back to whoever he borrowed from and end up making money by doing nothing basically.

reddit took offense to that because they’re a bunch of autistic nerds so they started buying up a lot of stock once they saw it shorted. This meant there was a lot of demand for GameStop stock so the price went up. Now, that hedge fund manager needs to buy all the stock he sold because he borrowed it, but this time he has to buy it for a lot more money than he sold it for.

robinhood is what people use to trade stocks but they’re also owned by the company who owns the hedge fund managers finances so they didn’t want to see the stock go up, therefore they froze trading for GameStop and other stocks that were shorted, making the price drop again. That is pretty fucked up and massive market manipulation.
It should also be noted that it is shorted more than there are actual shares in existence, fucking themselves.

My buddy and I were having drinks when this message came through. Laughing our asses off at it's parody-like nature. We both forwarded it to our local news networks explaining how this is market manipulation, hope they cover it at 11.

There was a class action suit filed in NY this afternoon.
Let's see what happens. Knowing New York, my bet is nothing.

Just when I was going to say oh, well, that makes me like her more.

She then decided to shit the bed and make it all about her again.

Very hard to trust this person.

Just heard someone I work with bought GME calls Friday and sold them Tuesday. If he held them, he would have been a millionaire. Instead he made like $200,000. It was his first trade ever.

Uhhh -- if this is the case, then Robinhood could actually be done for - for good.

Everyone should be withdrawing funds from them ASAP.

Hovering between $380 and $390 with 10 minutes until market open :touched:

I think it'll hit $500 and then drop as it hits some limits set by people, I hope most removed them by now.

I'm going for 350-400, I don't think they'll allow it to reach 500 it would be seen as a moral victory for the retaile investers, even though no matter what happens now we've made our point.

Team BlackBerry :dule:. I bought it before this hoping their new ventures would work out in the future though, but I'm not complaining about that share price currently :D

Seems you were right, topped out at about $375 so far. Still too expensive for me though at the moment, but if it dips again to around $250 or a little above, I MAY buy another share.

Yeah same here, unfortunately a lot of people have been put off and cut their losses yesterday. Scaremongering reports are putting people off. Read the below on how watchdogs and regulators are warning individuals on abiding by the market rules lol.
