A legendary guy on VS, well respected and they seem to all trust him :boh: just said this. Nothin new, but coming for him it's really trust worthy.

Cavani is still the number one target, really difficult operation tough.

ADL looking for Pazzini as a replacement for Edinson in case they decided to sell.

Jovetic and Dzeko are alternatives we looking to in case the Cavani deal fails.

@king Mirko

How do you think we'll deploy Jovetic, Giovinco, Vucinic?
They'll rarely play together if we do get Jojo. If they do play together then it's gonna be in a 4-3-3 (Jovetic-Vucinic-Giovinco) or in a 4-3-1-2/4-3-2-1 where both Seba and Jovetic will play behind Vucinic.

Similar case if we buy Cavani instead of Jovetic. We'll rarely see all three of Mirko, Cavani and Giovinco on the pitch at the same time.

I don't think we absolute need a ST, hell we won the Scudetto with our topscorer scoring 10 goals. Jovetic would be an amazing addition to this squad. Personally, I think Jovetic would do it better here, than a ST like Dzeko.

We did but we struggled in most of our games to find the net. With a proper striker we would have won almost all of those games we drew. JoJo is WC and will stay WC for many a years but I only want him if Gio or Vucinic leaves. Even though he is far superior to both. Right now I would prefer to focus on someone well suited for scoring and not setting up goals like Gio, Vuci and the rest of our SS. If we sign a SS he needs to be able to score tons of goals.

I have to agree with this.

At the worst case scenario, we will have to adapt on of our SS to a striker role...and that is if we are going to play with a striker like player in the formation. And even with that cons we get a bunch of quality up top, and players who know how to score like giovinco and jovetic. If we can stay with Matri, i dont see the issue really, as Matri is far from being bad.
This.

Getting Jovetic will mean that will player with no set striker, similar to the way Barca play with Messi as CF .
This , althought i have to admit that is kinda scary, lol, as i have never seen juventus with that kind of football style... but i also have never liked the stereotypical "send me the assist or i do nothing" striker formation. There were few that were bearable like Trezeguet, but otherwise i prefer a thousand times the technical striker way, but thats just me... is just that i cannot stand offensive players that lack the technical aspect of the game.

But indeed, it would be interesting to see this juventus playing with 3 very technical strikers..... would be a pleasure to watch at least. Last season we didnt depended on our forwards, and even when we struggled upfront... much of that was because our striking force was lacking in quality and depth.... but the chances of scoring were there.

Now, with gio, vuci,jovetic....we cannot use the lack of technique as an excuse.

Jovetic is a great player but I wouldnt pick him as our main striker
He would be a good purchase if we also get a main striker otherwise its a waste of funds

I can see Jovetic replacing Pirlo in time. Of course not as the deep-lying playmaker.

But when age sets in and Pirlo isn't good enough we will have room for a player, playing a free role, which is where I see Jovetic becoming world class. A possible number 10 - a modern version of Baggio. It could look like:

X - Y

Z - Jovetic - P

Dzeko ;)

Co-own JoJo for 11 Million Euros + Pazienza

Co-own Destro for 5 Million + Padoin

Marotta style :klin:
Leaving Siena and Genoa each with a 25% share of Destro and each with half of Pazienza.

Jovetic is a good player, put not someone worthy of 30mil
That's debatable.

I would argue that Jovetic is a player worth pretty close to 30m.

However, I wouldn't say he is worth that much to Juve, because he is not the CF that they need.

Matri is so underrated around here. If we don't sign a pure striker, he must be kept.
I'd love for us to sign Jovetic, but it should be by offering Quagliarella + money.

We can't enter CL and play in the Serie-A without at least one natural centreforward!

This deal I like, despite us overpaying.
I think the reason Matri has frustrated Juventus supporters throughout the last season was his inability to control the ball when receiving a crisply hit pass from a colleague. This inability to retain possession led to numerous breakdowns in often very promising attacking situations.

I have no doubt that he can find space well (Milan vs Juve - Serie A 2011/2012 that led to his goal) and gives his all. No one doubts that. But you have to remember that he was subbed many times last season when Conte could take no more of attacks breaking down due to this problem of being shaken off the ball far too easily. In many respects we achieved the Scudetto in spite of his performances rather than because of them.

Despite having said what I've just said, I really quite like the bloke.

Getting back on topic, I think we need to pay the going rate for Jovetic and concentrate on moving on the deadwood to fund a very good CF/proven goalscorer - someone that can bang in around 20+ a season in the league say 30 ish in all matches.

Well if Matri or Quag leave...how wouldn't they all play together? Unless we play a 3-5-2.
