but this is what I don't get, jovetic in no way has any proven european pedigree. I'd sooner have taken a risk on bringing back berardi who has been consistent and relatively injury free and is probably some what cheaper too
Jovetic's European pedigree is better than you think it is. The one chance that he was given significant playing time in Europe, he carried Fiorentina on his back. Granted, that was some time ago, but there is a difference between not performing in Europe and being frozen out and not getting the chance.
And as far as Berardi goes, he doesn't want to come back this year. I think that has basically been the prognosis on him. Why pursue that any further this year when one of his goals is to feature at Euro 2016? He certainly won't do that this year if he is a backup for Juve. The kid is still only 20. If he comes back next year, he will be at the ripe old age of 21, and yet a year younger than Dybala.

I'm going by the line of "we already have an agreement with City regarding the price and payment method."
Ok, but that doesn't mean that it is an outright purchase.
Let's keep in mind here that when dealing with a foreign club, there are really no such thing as "installments". Especially in the case of dealing with a Premier League side that doesn't need the money, and doesn't need to do us or anyone else any favors. It's probably a loan with an option to buy, that is upgraded to an obligation if certain goals are met.
Edit- I'm looking back at this comment, and it contradicts everything I just said. Too late to change it now
