Ok I do get that and I know we made hafty income this past season but seeing as how this management operates, an unsuccessful season would see us crippled next summer and this might trigger a cycle. I was always against the penny pinching but now it looks like we are doing the opposite. I am not complaining just a bit concerned. I was proven wrong in seeing success out of a policy I was against to witnessing the opposite.
It was a slow burn, Jack.

And I think that a lot of people realized that. Just because there was this brand new 41000 seat ATM called Juventus Stadium in our possession didn't mean that we would automatically be seeing this huge turnover. There were bills to be paid for the infrastructure and construction of the stadium. Let's not forget that big loan that Exor gave us 4 years ago that needed to be paid back.

I think that this could only be the beginning of spending more than we thought they would. And what gives me confidence is that we have a man at the top of this food chain that knows how to be responsible. UEFA won't be able to come nearly close enough to be sniffing around for FFP violations

This is something that worries me as well but let's hope everything goes well for us and everyone gives what's expected of them

Hey man would suck missing out on the next top italian striker.
It would be funny if we didn't redeem Jovetic next summer.
I think that if Jovetic doesn't get redeemed next year, assuming that is the payment method that is agreed upon, then it would be based solely on the fact that he simply did not perform. And i would have no problem with that. If he ends up being a one year stopgap until Berardi gets here, then that is the way it is.

I think a lot of it depends on what Juve considers a successful season. Aside from the expected Scudetto, I have a feeling that Juve considers success from a financial point of view as doing no worse than reaching the quarterfinals. If I remember correctly, the jumps in revenue from the Quarter Finals to the Championship aren't as large as the amount of monies received for getting out of the group stages and getting to the QF.

One is a juve fan the other :snoop:
You like French Hip Hop, but you don't see anyone holding that against you.

Except for me, of course. But that is allowed, because I am the funkiest white man you will ever know.

I just hope that is in fact the reason
Can't see any other reason. They could have Berardi for 15 million or pay upwards of 20 for Jovetic, who is 4 years older, has had injury issues in the past, and has not been a protagonist on a club for 2 plus years now.

If you are talking from strictly an economic and to a lesser degree, a player evaluation perspective, there is no reason why Jovetic should be picked ahead of Berardi.

Yup, I think that's something Agnelli himself said not so long ago. I'm not as scared of a bad draw as I was before this season in thr CL, so QF should be the standard from now on for the club.
Also the new tv deal kicks in this year, no? Adidas as well. We're getting a better flux of money which allows us to do this kind of purchasing as long as the results keep being good.
I can't wait till the day of selling the Stadium name's right, that will also bring a good amount of monee.

I more meant Berardi's reasoning.
