Cash + players or not, we're still agreeing to Fiorentina's value of him of something close to €30M, and that is an absolute robbery. I'd argue he's worth slightly higher than half that fee.
Yeah 30 million seems a bit much but I honestly would rather us pay excess and get a target for once then low ball and miss out. Most teams now and days have to spend a bit more then what someone is worth to get their target and in our case given our history with fiorentina we will have to do the same.

I dont want us to lose Jovetic to Arsenal then end up signing podolski for 20 million or something. that would break my heart.

The transfer may officially end up being worth something close to 30m.

However, it'll only be if Fiorentina agree to over-value Quagliarella or Marrone or whoever is included in the deal for accounting purposes/making it look like they've got a great price for Jovetic.

I'd expect something to be agreed that is actually worth about 25m, and I don't think that is an unreasonable price for Jovetic.

Jovetic over Ljajic any day of the week.
I would agree with you normally. But I'm upgrading my assessment of them and I'm basing it on nearly a season worth of performances where Ljalic just flat out performs better, plus he also like 15m or so cheaper.

Looking for another Diego-Oezil situation?

Indeed, this would be similar to that for sure...I wanted us to sign Özil back then, even if I was excited for Diego for sure. I like Jojo for sure, just not convinced he is better bet for the future to Ljalic based on current performances/qualities, plus the latter is clearly more worthwhile investment financially (would go for around 10m).

Just hope its not an opportunity we will regret later on.

Llajic is talented and has a nice turn of pace, which Jovetic doesn't have, but I don't see the intelligence in his play to suggest he could go on to be a really good player.
