That's the thing. He's 23. There's no track record of him being worth the 30 million. When we bought Zlatan, Zlatan was also 23. We paid 16 million euros. A sensible sum, for someone who had shown great potential at Ajax, but still had it all to prove. Jovetic is in the same situation. And let me tell you this; he might be very good, but he's no Ibrahimovic!

Why is that ?

I remember clearly hating Zlatan Soo much when he first came here as a youngster. Thought the guy was overrated (and many would agree with me back then). He improved "alot" and matured as a player till he reached his current form.

Personally I think Jovetic has shown more at this young age than Zlatan did when he was as young as he was (atleast in Italy and Europe).

So paying 30 million for Jovetic in the coming summer should be considered as good a deal as landing Zlatan for 16 million euros in 2004?

I simply don't agree with that.

I'll gladly see Jovetic in a Juventus shirt, but 30 million is alot of money, and to me, he's not the type of player who gives guarantees.

This reminds me of the discussions I used to have regarding Llorente, particularly with @W :D

It wasn't that I was against Llorente coming to Juve, I just didn't want us to spend 25m+ in order to get him. When there was talk of landing him for about 15 or even 10, I started to drool and fap like crazy. And we got him for free in the end

I know we won't get Jojo for free, but we should definitely attempt to lower the price.

Sanchez rumored price is 26 million. Barely cheaper that jovetic annd argubaly of less suitability

Ideally the target should be davi villa for 8 million

Look at it this way then:

23 years old...30m dollars...

what value would you put on 10 years of faithful service to the clubs stripes and consistently netting 12-18 goals a season with as many assists? What value to you would that be then?

When we disagree about this (him offering such guarantees (12-18 goals + 12-18 assists)), it's difficult for me to just blindly accept a sum of 30 million euros.

It must be a big player with a future.. Villa would be sick for 8m but we must follow up with young guns like Pogba, now that the other clubs in Serie A are doing just this.. Villa for two seasons would be sick.. but only unless we scoop a big talent

So you don't think he is capable of pumping those sort of stats each year?

I swear Hustini you got to improve your debating skills.

I want Jovetic as well, but if I didn't you wouldn't convince me one bit.
There really isn't much to debate. The kid is great, we all know this. The only thing Jem doesn't like is the 30m price tag.

Don't be daft.

I'm in doubt, that's all I'm saying. I'm trying to say that 30 million + high wages should land us more than "maybe".

Because you know what, in a good season, Vucinic could probably produce that too.

If we're gonna splash the huge sums for a "top player", I want Zlatan-type guarantees.

Land JoJo for around 20, and I'll : :mute:

Jovetic has been more consistent than Mirko has and is much younger. NO need to compare the two of them when one has major consistency issues.

So then you doubt two things: his price tag AND his consistency when earlier you said you know he is good, you just don't think he is worth 30m.

I won't, I promise.
Stop trying to get under my skin...you've already been there for a while.
