And we'll get Jovetic from them. :yao:
And to think of all the excuses we'd make when we can't sign a player like Gomez. Wages. Transfer fee. Serie a. Fiorenfuckingtina with Delle Valle's Deep Purple project looks like they can do it. :yao:

Not that big of a difference, really.
Gilardino>Nocerino. Which means Gilardino>The World.

:disagree:

I agree that the requested sum for Jovetic is way too high and I understand your concern and doubts about him but Jovetic is the ideal player that fits our club. He fits us like a glove. Talented, young and plenty of room to improve in the right environment. His injuries are a concern but I believe in our medical staff and with a coach like Conte I believe that Jovetic will have all the conditions and circumstances to become one of the Juventus greats. No doubts about that. The same goes for Higuain of course but let's be honest, we have no chance to sign him.

But he's not the player who takes us to the next level IMO. Tevez who would slot in similarly, is perhaps that player, and he would cost less too. So there's an argument that runs both ways really.

Yeah I agree. Tevez would be a good quick solution to take us or at least push us to the next levele whereas JoJo will take some time to settle in I believe. But you never know though, Jo Jo can explode. For sure he is talented and a change of scenery would do him good.

i think our "excuse" would be that signing gomez after having already signed llorente might be kinda... suboptimal.
furthermore we should wait and see if the deal will actually happen AND if fiorentina is going to lose their best player in the progress. if we sold vidal today we could probably present higuain and jovetic tomorrow ;)

You cant say that for sure.
Paying 20m in cash irrespective of players involved is a reasonable deal.
He is an investment ,an investment for the future.think long term.

Jojo's value is the equivalent of selling somebody within the team for about 20m. Vucinic/Marchisio maybe. It's not something that is out of the realm of possibility. Besides, we already know Jojo is going, they can afford to let him go even if Gomez doesnt come, coz theyve signed Rossi and have Ljajic and will find a replacement anyway. And it's not about signing Gomez per se, it is abo signing that profile of player that we have chased the last three seasons. Llorente or not, if we were after Gomez this season, and failed, which is a distinct possibility, then you know everyone would have an excuse about a weak league and wages etc. Just the fact that he's linked to Fiorentina and apparently close to them, shows that it's as much about negotiation skills as it is about every other variable, people use to defend the management with.

i know this will sound like another excuse to you but imo you can't compare gomez to the likes of aguero and van persie we "failed" to sign, simply because it seems that absolutely no team from spain or england is interested in him...
i'm not denying that there are plenty of people who will ALWAYS find an excuse for marotta's failures but the gomez situation is kinda special imo.

I'm not saying Gomez is RvP or Aguero level, but to say that nobody but Fiorentina is interested in him? Id have to disagree. You could then argue that's probably the only reason we got Llorente too. Everyone else's lack of interest. It's simply not true IMO.

then who is interested in gomez? i read about napoli (if they sell cavani) and fiorentina and that there is no interest from england or spain... german media reported that. it's hard to believe but it really seems that the big english and spanish clubs are going after other players.
i think at least arsenal/tottenham were interested in llorente and yes, we would probably have missed out again if a club like psg, manu or city came in. that's the whole point.

Llorente's is a different case.
There was interest but none were ready to pay his release clause.
And we had an agreement with him for months before he even officially became a freebie hence the transfer concluded smoothly.
