Man... i just donty understand how he missed the ball....after the touch...theres a moment when he IS LOOKING the ball...and the flips out and do that weird twist.

WTF? he has sight problems?

- - - Updated - - -

PD: maybe his hand somehow blocked his vision of the ball in that precise moment? Look at the position of his arm when he looks forward
I thought so too, but look at the footage again. He's actually looking straight at the ground and the ball is already two meters away at that point. That's why he's confused: he expected to look down and see the ball.

I kind of feel bad for him. Of course it looks silly and of course it's questionable whether he's good enough for Juventus. But he's an okay player to have on your roster and he has actually put in some good performances as well.

IMO he was the 2nd best player last night after Barzagli.

Apart from that moment/mistake he was good, very good and with little bit of luck he could have had a 2nd assist.
I don't think Sturaro was even bad. The entire team was sloppy and the gif was what we remember but he was solid. One of him or Lemina should start every match imo along with one of Pjanic or Khedira. And of course Marchisio.

Sorry, but people saying Sturaro wasn't bad or even saying he was solid shows how much the standards went down lately.

The fact is he's pretty much useless when we're on the ball. He can't do anything more than receive the ball and make a simple pass. When we're on the ball, it's like we're down to 10 men because you can't rely on him to at least keep the tempo going. He's strong and an defends quite well, but nothing extraordinary to justify him starting in an important CL game for us.

For me, Allegri should try him as a RB and if he fails he should be sold. There are better CMs in Serie A that suit our game far more than Sturaro. He's an average destroyer and nothing more than that.

EDIT:
The other position he could be used at is DM in 442/4231 but we're aren't playing that (yet).

He belongs in the cm role but he played as lcm yesterday and got pogba role. this a joke he is no where pogba level. He is clearly better than asamoah but no for lcm role .

Serie B caliber player. He has no business being in rotation for a team like Juventus, let alone starting important games in the CL. Both him and Hernanes are cancerous liabilities that we are forced to suffer watching playing for us. It's really sad how much our midfield has regressed in 2 seasons.

Sturaro was a beast in our CL final run, goldfish.

I just think the criticism he gets here is overblown. He is 5th or 6th choice CM and our midfield is lacking grinta which is his main strength. Lemina should start and Sturaro should be vice Lemina. Marchisio obviously should start. And Pjanic or Khedira should start because I don't think they should play together.

Will he get any better? I cant see him improving much or doing anything to ever gain a starting place in the team. He is useful though. The new Padoin.

He is only 23. He's worth keeping IMO. He isn't the problem. The problem is that he are lacking a true attacking midfielder, and a guy who can replace Marchisio in the future.
Sturaro can improve...remember he was supposed to be a decent passer when he was purchased. Maybe he needs a loan? But regardless, given his age, and cost, he isn't a guy we should ship out.

Loan? The Italian way

He's not good enough and he's not improving. The benefit of a doubt for him is that he came back after the injury but even before he managed to show his limitations. He's nothing more than a squad filler. A guy you put on the pitch to defend the lead as the guy with fresh legs.

He's not the problem per se, but the fact we've got too many players who contribute too little. Asamoah and Hernanes are nothing more than squad fillers as well and that's too many. We need to have a lot more quality in the midfield, on the bench and competitiveness and these guys don't guarantee that. Some of them should leave to make room for better players we'll be hopefully after.

Lol. Beast. If my statement is slightly hyperbolic, then your labeling of him as a "beast" is incredibly laughable, inflated, and exaggerated.
He was. Rock solid and imposing when we were playing counter attacking football. Just because we turned the hammer upside down doesnt mean the hammer isnt working

The drop in quality from our starting trio to the reserves in midfield is immense. If Khedira, Marchisio, and Pjanic are all fit and in form (which they currently aren't), then our midfield is very good. However, the reserves are 2-3 levels below the starters, and that is a problem. We shouldn't be relying on guys like Hernanes and Sturaro, but currently we are forced to, and it is clearly visible in our horrible performances (notwithstanding the positive results in Serie A), particularly in Europe.

I think our bench should be primarily italian, so Hernanes and Asamoah should go...

He is good as a last bench option when you need to close a game but he's too limitate.

BTW our worst player is Asa, not him, but after Hernanes rebirth our board may be waiting everyone does it

Our backups are fine, its tier 1 that is incomplete and underperforming
