Sturaro is solid depth as 5th or 6th option but not more than that. Maybe Witsel will come in January and Matuidi in the summer :boh: hopefully not too little too late.
I think Witsel is coming for free in the summer. Is he being played or benched? If he is still a starter there I think we will have to wait and get him for free. I don't know if there is anyone purchasable in January that would make a difference. I still think Bastian on loan would be a great short term solution. If he can mutually terminate his contract and come in now on a free that would be fantastic.

Honestly, Sturaro isn't that bad technically like people make him out to be. Sure he's no Pogba, but still miles better than Sissoko for instance. He needs to be solid defensively, the rest can come later, if it ever will. Our midfield seriously lacks balls.

Sturaro is great if we are playing a game where we are expecting the opposition to have more possession than us. Fielding him against mid table teams in serie A makes no sense

He would be really good backing up more offensive players like Pjaca and Cuadrado.

But on a midfield which dependss on him to carry the ball forward, we will be exactly as we are right now. Bad.

he should always be backup CM, but since Allegri likes experiments id like to see Stu at RB/RWB. would be nice to know if he can pull it off for us

If he could improve his passing, he'd be a good DM
i dont think he will ever play DM, hes not that type of player. maybe in a 2 man midfield with a strong passer next to him but RCM is his best position

If we want to field a more aggresive formation which depended less on a wingback doing his thing, Sturaro as a purely defensive RB could pull it out. of course that needs testing, but i think he is more than capable.

Our mid is in trouble if Sturaro is that high up in the pecking order. Unless he takes a giant leap forward he and Hernanes should be the low men on the totem pole. We need a better 4th mid. Lemina as 5th mid. Sturaro and Hernanes getting rare appearances from the back end of the bench. :p
So who is 4,5,and 6 in your opinions?
Asamoah? Maybe, I agree we need better but the window was closed so speculation doesnt really help

Yes he is. He can't hold a ball, his first touch is horrible and his passes are average at best... in the other hand, his defensive skills are great and his tactical positioning is very good. About the last, agree, he could bring more grinta to our MF, we definitely need a lot more of that
