For those interested in statistics (and those only interested in statistics when it makes their favourite league look good):

This season, the Serie A has been impressively more productive than the English Premier League largely thanks to Luca Toni's form. The Netherlands top the table unsurprisingly, with the other European leagues trailing the Eredivisie significantly.

or the massive gulf in class between the top 3/4 and the rest, leading to easy 3 goal victories each weekend

There's bound to be a season when Serie A tops the EPL in terms of goals scored...until it becomes a sustained trend its nothing more than an exception IMO.

..

Italy's statistics is mainly due to the introduction of two extra teams in Seria A to 20 teams. Which also means four extra games, since the past 2 seasons.

italy has more goals, and they are seven games back, Jonesey.
Well, if your considering the FA Cup and League Cup, then i suppose your right. But Erik's first post only mentions leagues only, which both nations play 38 games, Schmitz.
