Calle, your second lineup is more realistic bu don't be surprised if Nicky butt plays instead of lampard. We'll play a diamond 4-4-2 as well rather than the flat formation, with Scholes in the hole.

It would be a mistake to play Butt when Lampard has played so well this season. Plus they have a good backline so they can take care of the defensive problems.

    Neville ----Terry ----- Campbell -----Cole

    ---------------------Butt ----------------------

    ---- Becks -----------------------Gerard ----

    --------------------- Scholes -----------------

That looks realistic, but do you really think Butt is the best man for the job??

doesnt sven play hargreaves in his first 11?
Hargreaves was constantly in the first 11 in the qualifiers, but i dont think he'll drop Gerrard or lampard for Hargreaves, especially after the dazzling season they had.

Cheers Calle, keep me updated :)
I'm sorry Paolo but Michael Svensson had to quit the squad today because of his injury. He will be replaced with Alexander Östlund, but he won't play. I think Andreas Jakobsson will take his place in the starting eleven.

How do you predict the starting elevens in the teams in this years EURO tournament. Could also be useful for people playing fantasy games.

    Sweden:

    ---------------------Isaksson---------------------------

    --Lucic-----Mellberg----Svensson-----Edman------

    --------------------Jakobsson--------------------------

    ----Wilhelmsson----------------------Ljungberg-----

    -------------------Källström-----------------------------

    ----------Larsson---------------Ibrahimovic----------

    Bench:

    Hedman
    Linderoth (Nilsson)
    Jonsson
    Mjällby
    Allbäck
I doubt that Wilhelmsson will be in the starting eleven. Our coachens are chickens and will probably play Nilsson instead.

"Our ideal starting-eleven for the match against Denmark the 14 June is Buffon, Panucci, Cannavaro, Nesta, Zambrotta, Camoranesi, Perotta, Zanetti, Del Piero, Totti och Vieri", said Trappatoni to Channel four yesterday.

Hargreaves was never likely to get a starting shirt, but he is a favourite sub of sven thanks to his athletisism.

Butt, imo will have to play unless sven uses this lineup:

    Beck-Gerard-Lamp

    --------Scholes-----

    or

    Beck-Gerard-Lamps-Scholes.

The diamond doesnt work, and unfortunately becks has to play, despite playing shite for a while no, including his shoddy set plays lately.

Best two player for england imo are Gerard and Lamps, shame its hard to fit them into the same team.

Owen, is owen, will always score, but rellies on other to create real chances.

*Czech Republic* Karl Bruckner seems to be sticking to this same formation:

    Cech

    Grygera - Bolf - Ujfalusi - Jankulovski

    Poborsky - Galasek - Nedved

    Rosicky

    Baros - Koller

Bruckner might decide to bring in Smicer for Baros if he wants more midfield prowess. Thus, Rosicky would move more forward.

On terms of performances, I would start Lampard in front of Scholes. Maybe a bit risky, but I would do this:

    Beckham - Lampard - Gerrard - Scholes

Scholes would roam on the left, with Lampard and Gerrard providing threatening shots from long distance.

But Sven will probably stick with the same stuff.

A few nights ago I watched UEFA's Road to Portugal programme, and their predicted line-up for England was as follows:

    ----------------------James--------------------------
    Neville----------Campbell---Terry---------------Cole
    ---------------------Gerrard--------------------------
    ---------Beckham------------------Lampard----------
    ---------------------Scholes---------------------------
    --------------Owen---------------Rooney--------------

That seems like the best formation to include Lampard, which should be a priority for Sven.

Any idea of what Spain are going to start with? If I'm not mistaken they played 4-2-3-1 in most of the qualifiers with Exteberria, Valeron and Vicente forming the supportive trio behind Raul. I'm wondering if they'll stick with this system though as Fernando Torres has recently come to promenance and scored against Italy in Baggio's final Azzurri game. I'm also curious as to whether Exteberria will keep his place on the right with forceful pressure coming from Joaquin.
