oh baby :tuttosport: you know how to turn me on :tuttosport:

say it one more time...episode 4...uuuh...aaahh :tuttosport:
Wat.

not much pleased me about this movie, the only times I awas excited was when they played the greatest hits as the rest just felt like a cover band. The villain looked like a post meth picture of ET.

It was visually spectacular though.

Mark Hammel looks like shit. Needs another year with the personal trainer.

WTF isn't it 1 year? Shouldn't we see the next part in December next year?
Next December is Star Wars: Rogue Something. Different storyline in the same universe.

It's the story about how Rebels got the Death Star plans before Episode IV even happened.

Well that was one trainwreck of a last hour.

Pity, because the first ~third was really great. Couple of very interesting characters (probably the movie's strongest point overall), well-paced & shot scenes, quite intriguing plotlines & mysteries. Not flawless of course, and full of crazy coincidences, but that's to be expected in a movie like this, and very tolerable. In this part of the movie the fine line between homage to the previous material and original components is walked very very well too, e.g. BB8 is just about different enough from R2D2 to still work on its own, or the whole character of Kylo Ren.

Then the movie takes a huge turn just about the time when they enter Mos Eislys Cantina 2̶.̶0̶ 3.0. I mean come on, how is "let's make a bigger death star and then make it have one single weakness so the r̶e̶b̶e̶l̶s̶ resistance can destroy it with X-fighters", not for the 2nd, but the fucking third time the best idea they could come up with? Not to mention that Han Solo's death, while not a bad idea in itself, was really poorly executed imo, and the last fight was a complete joke (though that has been discussed here sufficiently already I think).

Seriously, the whole time while they were planning and exectuing the attack on the starkiller (lol) I was thinking every moment that now something goes wrong, and Abrams subverts our expectations of the clean attack that has worked twice the exact same way in Star Wars already. That would have even been kinda clever, and a well done usage of the original material. But no, all we get is the same, in itself not very original plot we've already seen, copied down to the last stroke.

Oh, and the R2D2 literal Deus Ex Machina at the end was absolutely pathetic, although I'm willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt for now, as I've read that this will be developed on in the next movie(s).

Don't think I'm gonna watch the next one in the cinema.

I don't think many will agree with me here, but the acting was good and nothing overly ridiculous happened, so for now that's good enough for me. I'm going to reserve judgement until I see all three movies, since there's still so much left to happen.

Dat scene. So perfect :touched: :touched:

It really was :touched:
