That list is neverending because you mention Baggio like 10 times.

Baggio who Moggi had no hand in buying.

Actually, Kohler, Dino Baggio, Conte, Del Piero, Peruzzi Moggi had NO hand in buying. Because they were all signed before 94, when Moggi came. Actually Ferrara and Deschamps came around 94, so not sure if they were done deals already when he came, or he signed them (Likely he signed Ferrara because he was boss in Napoli while Ferrara was there).

And you are just namedropping btw, without considering wether or not they are good deals at all. I liked Di Vaio, but how was he a good deal? Way overpriced and was decent, but not good enough. You have hardly analysed several of those deals.

And Moggi was good in deals, but you know the list of flops is pretty much aslong as the one you mentionned? You have to acknowledge the mistakes with the great stuff, if you want to make a clear picture.
Also, there are few transfers that you and me could have completed.
We payed 33m eur for the 29, soon to be 30, right back Thuram.
Now, no doubt that Thuram was a great player but if this board has so much money then they'll also buy great players.
Dunno why Thuram's transfer is so special and why should Moggi be credited for this transfer.

Likes of Zambrotta, Ferrara and especially Zidane are great deals, because you basically signed champion players for nothing or for a good deal like Cannavaro. But yeah as you said, there is not much acheivement in forking out the big bucks and use the big resources Juve had.

There is nothing that is much of a steal in that, just using our resources the same way Chelsea, Real Madrid uses it resources. Even if you need to work for it to convince the likes of Buffon to sign for you instead of Milan etc. Generally, a regret of mine about him is he failed to get Cassano over Roma despite offering big money.

It basically says that inter do not want to sell him, he's happy to be linked to the club, and its not because of what the supporters are saying that the deal couldn't happen

like it or not the Juve-Inter relationship has obviously degraded more so after calciopoli than previously. Signing stankovic is no longer just a matter of signing a so called inter leftover, it's about Juve's pride and dignity - here is a player who directly insulted Juventus, snubbed us before yes but also comes from a team who parades OUR scudetto on their badge and well all the dodgy calciopoli facts just points their fingers at inter. here we are building our foundation starting fresh and out to beat the rest of the world and prove that Juve's Juve - whatever doesn't kill us makes us stronger - Stankovic does not go well with that picture.

It works both ways though. You could look at it as a player who traded his old beliefs and feelings for new ones. I am sure the Inter fans would be pretty rotted if he joined us .. us of all teams. The same way we felt about Ibra.

It matters little what was said or done in the past when compared to what is being said and done now. Also we don't know the context of what was said before as the media reported it. I am sure Stankovic does not feel that badly towards Juventus if he chooses to join us.

Either way he is a quality player .. and that is what we need. Thats the way I look at it :pint:

Burdisso Says No To Juve

Nicolas Burdisso says that it would be almost impossible for him to join Juventus due to the fact that he plays for bitter rivals Inter.

The Argentine’s future at San Siro is currently clouded in huge doubt following an error prone campaign last term. He has been consistently linked with a move away from the club, with Juventus’ name regularly cropping up.

“I know that Juventus enquired after me, but it is really difficult for someone who has worn the Inter jersey to then play for the Bianconeri,” Burdisso told Tuttosport.
There have been reports in the press that Inter are angry with Burdisso’s plans to play for Argentina in this summer’s Olympics, and that as a result they may sell him.

“If the club doesn’t want me to go, then I will give up my place, although I would do so with a heavy heart,” the 27-year-old explained.

“I always play around 40 games per season, which isn’t bad for someone who is on sale every summer.

“I still have three years left on my contract and could stay at San Siro for the duration. I am curious to work with Jose Mourinho.

“Hernan Crespo described him to me as very different to Roberto Mancini, someone we can really learn a lot from.”

Burdisso has also been heavily associated with a move to Fiorentina and Paris Saint Germain.

Exactly thats why its not an easy task like Alen mentioned. Its not just about having the resources to buy the player, its about selling the package to the players and i dont think its that simple.

Because this deal was struck during 2000-2002.... a period where you have explained one page earlier that football market was going mad.

And plus Thuram was considered one of the best defenders around. Even though too many of us hate his guts but he was a complete defender.

Thuram was and allways will be an awesome signing. Its just that its not a steal or that much of a mercato wizardry to buy him for 34m euro or such. Evn if he was one of the absolute top best in the bussiness, and is a legend in this game of ours.

Its sad that we cant sign players who isn't needed by the club. We will end up with Poulsen, and that makes me cry like a baby :(

And only then we will be able to have few smartass posting a detailed explanation on how it was a great mercato because we have signed Amauri and returned Giovinco while Poulsen was the only available realistic option.

A few more of FORZA JUVE and :flag3:, :juve1:, :flag: and :ultra: and we will be able to enjoy a page long post of pure BULLSHIT.
