Btw, it was a very good refereeing imo. Despite the pressure coming from both teams, the referee is keeping his cool and the tough calls he had to make were good calls.
After conceding 5 goals in the first match his tactics has worked well. No conceding should be considered an achievement. Sitting back and and counter attack his only possible way to get something out of this match
In Mourinho's place my main tactic would have been to injure the Barca stars
Even if he wins tonight it'll mean a little since the league title is lost. Beating them will be good for confidence, sure, but the same effect will be made if his players badly injure Messi and Xavi
Well, it sure won't work if you and I are the defenders. Of course you need to have good midfield, defense and fast players to do it. If you don't have good defense then you'll lose anyway, no matter if you attack them or defend. But even if you have good defense and excellent team, you'll probably be destroyed if you open up and attack them. See what happened to Mourinho's Real at Cam Nou when he wanted to play their game and started with an attacking 4-2-3-1.
But even in that match, Real sat back for most of the game, especially the defense and central midfield. Yet it still didn't work.
I wouldn't be reckless and send the entire team forward, but what I would do is pressure them, not sit back constantly. You aren't going to hit Barca's weak spots if you just sit back... you need to find a way to take the game to them beyond their midfield, which means closing them down and hitting hard on the counter.

I see your point, but Barca are way better than Real. It's not just the names, Barca's players have been playing together for many years, and play as a team better than anybody around. While Real can't put 2 or 3 good passes together.
