The football we played under Lippi especially in 2003 is nothing to be compared to Barcelona's possession football.

We do hold the ball and play it now as well but that too is far from what Barcelona do.

At any time in history where our teams executed passing football, the approach was to take the ball to the opponent as fast as possible and execute, Barcelona keep possession for a longer period before attempts.

Anyhow, it all comes down to personal preference. Perfect football for me is what Inter played last season (especially in the CL). And this is coming from someone who hates Inter.

I think it makes perfect sense. Of course Barcelona play some dominating football but that doesn't mean their games aren't boring as shit to watch.

Personally I don't find it exciting to watch a team I loathe hold the ball all game and humiliate opponents in a very predictable manner.

You can control a game without the ball. Possession football is about not giving the ball to the opponent and no Italian team play like that.
