The football we played under Lippi especially in 2003 is nothing to be compared to Barcelona's possession football.
We do hold the ball and play it now as well but that too is far from what Barcelona do.
At any time in history where our teams executed passing football, the approach was to take the ball to the opponent as fast as possible and execute, Barcelona keep possession for a longer period before attempts.
And why sticking to a football philosphy is whatever you described it now where just a few posts earlier you were singing Barcelona's sticking to their football philosophy?
I never said it was a complete copy, just that we did possess the ball well back in 2003. It wasn't something uber-defensive, or anything like that. We were a complete side back then, which is what I prefer.
And I don't understand your last comment.
When the hell did we ever play "possession football"? Must have missed that game.
Anyhow, it all comes down to personal preference. Perfect football for me is what Inter played last season (especially in the CL). And this is coming from someone who hates Inter.
Mes que un turd obviously plays a kind of football that is easy on the eye & appealing to many people, but it's just not something I enjoy watching.
So you admit it's pleasing on the eye, but you don't like watching it. That's a bit funny.
Seems to me that many form their own philosophies off of the clubs they like, not what makes any sense.
Don't expect Juve to ever play like Barcelona, that is all.
Probably not, but you never know.
Nobody thought we could play as poorly as we did last year, yet it happened.
I hope not. I like the way we are playing, with heart, effort and determination. Too bad we lack quality.
And Barca doesn't play with determination? I mean, they have so much of the ball for a reason. They track down their opponents all the time and win the ball back.
