"A Real fan in...

August: 'We're gonna win the treble!'
December: 'We're gonna win the double!'
March: 'We're gonna win the League!'
June: 'We've got 9 CL."
:D true considering a lot of my friends who are Madrid fans.

If one just come and express a point, then that is fine and welcome, but if one start getting on your back just becasue you say they have nice football, then surely that is not the way to do it.
See? This is where you are taking things personally, if one expresses a point you think he or she is on your back mainly because the opinion expressed opposes yours.

The football we played under Lippi especially in 2003 is nothing to be compared to Barcelona's possession football.

We do hold the ball and play it now as well but that too is far from what Barcelona do.

At any time in history where our teams executed passing football, the approach was to take the ball to the opponent as fast as possible and execute, Barcelona keep possession for a longer period before attempts.

And why sticking to a football philosphy is whatever you described it now where just a few posts earlier you were singing Barcelona's sticking to their football philosophy?
I never said it was a complete copy, just that we did possess the ball well back in 2003. It wasn't something uber-defensive, or anything like that. We were a complete side back then, which is what I prefer.

And I don't understand your last comment.

When the hell did we ever play "possession football"? Must have missed that game.

Anyhow, it all comes down to personal preference. Perfect football for me is what Inter played last season (especially in the CL). And this is coming from someone who hates Inter.
Mes que un turd obviously plays a kind of football that is easy on the eye & appealing to many people, but it's just not something I enjoy watching.
So you admit it's pleasing on the eye, but you don't like watching it. That's a bit funny.

Seems to me that many form their own philosophies off of the clubs they like, not what makes any sense.

Don't expect Juve to ever play like Barcelona, that is all.
Probably not, but you never know.

Nobody thought we could play as poorly as we did last year, yet it happened.

I hope not. I like the way we are playing, with heart, effort and determination. Too bad we lack quality.
And Barca doesn't play with determination? I mean, they have so much of the ball for a reason. They track down their opponents all the time and win the ball back.

.
I think it makes perfect sense. Of course Barcelona play some dominating football but that doesn't mean their games aren't boring as shit to watch.

Personally I don't find it exciting to watch a team I loathe hold the ball all game and humiliate opponents in a very predictable manner.

Of course you didn't because it contradicts what you said.

And no you didn't say it is a complete copy, you said we played possession football, which we didn't.

Wrong. As I've been saying, identity is different from philosophy. You can have a single identity but change your approach. That much is certain.

And yes we did have possession football insofar as we didn't sit back and we controlled the game, at least against opposition that didn't demand copious amounts of the ball.

You can control a game without the ball. Possession football is about not giving the ball to the opponent and no Italian team play like that.
I think the only Italian team that played possession football was Inter during the Herrera days. He said, that if the opponent don't have the ball, they can't score.

Bullshit, AC Milan played possession football only a few years ago when they won the CL under Carlo.

Spalletti's Roma also very much so. To the point the players still do a bit despite Ranieri doing his best to get that out of their system.

Apparently you have a different definition for possession football.

Nope. I was based on counter attack's, but Spalletti made it look entertaining. Actually, I think it was Brian Laudrup or Peter Schmeichel who called it the future of football once
