Lol the predictable idiotic/clownish posts. I was being facetious while making a point, but while Ronaldo is only player comparable/comes close to Messi and is quite obviously beyond amazing player, its still clear which one of them is the superior one.

Was pretty common to hear that from enough Man U fans, and same thing with Real fans. Seriously, regardless of which club one plays for our whatever biasm one has in that regard or other, Messi is simply the best player on this wonderful sport.

I loved Montero craziness and capable defending, but there are several defenders who are better then him NOW. If you wanna reminisce of hardmen defenders, you DEFENITELY have to go back way further then Montero. For example what Baggio said (though I would go even further back then him) recently, when Totti beat him in goals. He said the usual compliments, but that he wished he played in todays football when the rule/referee change, where you are more protected from tackles from the back. And this is a guy who just retired 7 years ago But he is totally right though.

Of course there are several better defenders than Montero now, but Montero was never one of the worlds best though. And I agree, it's different to play today than seven years ago. It doesn't seem long time ago but a lot has changed.

I love to see great forwards being brilliant, but it only interests me if the defence makes them work to do it.
