Ibra isnt direct or off the ball movement they are used to from Eto'o, but he was CLEARLY not so fit, that it clearly hampered his game, I mean, I saw him get pushed around or off the ball, or could barely run, defenitely doesnt happen much when at his usual, but he will get there will few more games. Plus getting used to a total new style will take time. But was a bit positive debute still, even if he brings another approach then a box striker who moves around off the ball. Had some REAL intelligent link ups with Messi and the rest.

IMO he will benifite from playing with Henry alot, because when Ibra is outside the box, creating or passing around, someone like Henry will be needed alot to make runs into the box, he is great at that.

I didnt hear this supposed booing, perhaps one isnt used to spanish fans, but they were cheering his name nonstop even when he didnt have the ball. Booing him for being lazy in his first 45mins? Far from it. He was getting the oooh aaah rock star treatment from the cule's.

it not about booing or cheering him,, its about himself and his thinking about being for the 1st time at nou camp, he did not care about his preformance cuz he knows its a friendly !

I dont mean you, but only-juve saying the fans are already pissed at his lazy ass. Which is pretty weird to say the least considering they were like screaming teenage girls, howling his name all the time.

i know you don't mean me. like when we brought him to torino he was lazy at begining then became a real striker specially in CL against real madrid at delle alpi.

being a new player in a new team needs some work , how about if u play in a team consider the best team in the world right now !

so i can't judge him right now,, barca's play too many dynamic which is good for him better than to be in serie A where is no spaces to play (Catanacio).

It's not the booing Osman but in a couple of passes and moves that he did and went wrong you can hear that "ahhhh" sound in the stadium. Anyways its not a big deal considering that its he's first game with team but the thing is, barca fans have pretty high expectation from the guy.

Paying 45 mil plus giving away one of their all time best strikers "etoo" is a Huge deal. Too much pressure will be on Ibra it would be interesting to see how will he cope this season.

By the way ramadan kareem ;)

only-juve: The ahhs I heard too and were clearly due to excitement, they really where jumpy on everything he did, that little elastico he did on Onouha, they all went oooooooh, was quite something seeing 90k+ crowd react to little things like that.

And yeah he has alot of pressure, but despite how one wants to say choker this or that simplistic, Zlatan is someone who wants and likes pressure, and he hasnt let down any of his clubs so far (you might say our 2nd season, first was awesome, but IMO he was assisting alot and performing in first half of 2nd season, its latter half it became useless) and when comes down to it will just show his quality. So I wouldnt worry too much, even if he has to adapt.

I think replacing Eto'o with Ibra wasn't a good move by Barca. It won't do much harm against the smaller teams but when they play against the bigger and more organized teams, they're going to need their strikers to have good off the ball movement in the final third in order to compliment the Xavi's, Iniesta's and Messi's. Ibra doesn't offer that like Eto'o did.

If they really had to sell Eto'o they should have brought in someone like Villa who would have been willing to make runs in the final third. Now they're going to have to rely solely on the aging Henry to make the runs that Messi and Xavi need from the strikers.

Still they'll win the league again.

Watching Barcelona vrs Atlethic, for what I have seen so far, even with all the names that Madrid has, Barcelona is way more a better team than Real Madrid

So true. If Messi stays fit, they're definitely going to win the Liga again. Did anyone see how easy he made it look for the first goal? Messi is going to be a legend, no two ways about it.

Yeah that first goal? That was ridicolous how easy he made it, was wondering if that neat pass from Ibra would count as an assist when Messi goes on to dribble 2 defenders and then cooly chip it in from a close angle :D
