    Why did you get upset?

Only because I mentioned three good coaches available even before Wednesday?

do you believe that any of these good coachs would be available next wednesday if valencia choose one of them , they need 1-2 weeks to be a coach to a team , it is not just call him and the next day he will come and be the coach

I know that but these coaches are available and why it is so important to you that Valencia should keep their current coach? Are you a fan of Valencia too?

But their current coach is not good enough to win and we can see from the results, Mr. clever man.

And that's it for me with you today, it's just a waste of energy.

    Valencia sensationally sack coach Flores
    tribalfooball.com - October 29, 2007

Valencia have sensationally sacked coach Quique Sanchez Flores after yesterday's 3-0 defeat to Sevilla.

AS says the decision was made in a dawn meeting this morning by the club's board, with it being agreed that Flores will immediately be replaced by youth coach Oscar Fernandez.
Valencia spokesman Jesus Wollstein confirmed the decision today, along with news that the players will be made aware of Flores' dismissal personally by president Juan Soler at training at 11am. Flores will also hold a media conference at 11:30am.

Flores had been in charge of Valencia for little over two years and leaves just days away from their clash with Liga leaders Real Madrid. Valencia currently lies in fourth position on the table.

by the way valencia official website did not mention anything about sacking flores
    Quique Flores Sacked By Valencia

Under cover of darkness, Valencia have parted company with coach Quique Sanchez Flores, the 3-0 defeat at Sevilla proving the last straw for the Mestalla hierarchy...

Quique Sanchez Flores has officially been sacked as boss of Valencia CF.

The manager, who took over in 2005, has been under pressure for months from fans and club officials alike.

Despite his side's lofty position in La Liga, Sunday night's 3-0 defeat at Sevilla proved too much for the club hierarchy to bear.

European football, too, must have played its part, the 2-0 defeat to Rosenborg midweek being perhaps Los Che's worst continental result in recent years.

With the fans vociferously protesting against Quique's style of play, and the narrow margins of victory that the team sometimes produced, club president Juan Soler clearly felt that it was time to act.

To this end, he convened a meeting at 01:45 local time, having remained in Valencia while the bulk of the executive corps traveled with the team to Sevilla. Upon their return at 02:49, the meeting began in earnest.

Then, at 03:52, communications director Jesus Wollstein emerged from the smoke-filled room to read the following statement:

"The board of directors of Valencia CF, after analysing the technical report issued by the sports director, Miguel Angel Ruiz, on the status of the team, which is considered irreversible after the latest results in the Liga and the Champions League, has taken the decision to dismiss Quique Sanchez Flores and appoint Oscar Fernandez, the current coach of Valencia-Mestalla [Valencia reserves], the interim coach, while working towards finding a new sporting coach to lead the first team."

The president will address the first team squad at 11:00 local time, with a press conference with Fernandez slated for 11:30. Finally, president Soler will conduct a press conference at 12:00.

Quique took over at the Mestalla in 2005 after a successful two-year spell in charge at Getafe. His first season saw Los Che improve from a 7th place finish to end up 3rd; the following campaign ended in a 4th place finish and an appearance in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Valencia's next match is against league leaders Real Madrid at the Mestalla midweek.

    no m_elayyan i'm not a valencia fan.

i think the post i quoted from jack makes perfect sense. think about what he is trying to say slowly and carefully and u will have yr answer. even if valencia had kept flores they would'nt be able to beat real madrid hence making yr beloved barca top of the table.

as for the next coming manager who will take valencia's seat, well i honestly (my own opinion) dont think he will need 2 weeks or more to control the team bec they have already played enough games into the season. i would agree with u if they had sacked flores in the summer things would be different but now the team is going. i think valencia has a really good squad that can compete with the likes of madrid and barca.

p.s: thank u vlatko and jack. :toast:

Barça Claim To Have 160 Million Fans Worldwide

FC Barcelona believe that they have around 160 million supporters worldwide and are bigger than any club in Major League Baseball or the NFL.

The claim was made by the Blaugrana vice-president, Marc Ingla, after the Catalan outfit reported turnover of €290.1m last year, pulling them into line with Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Now the club are aiming to crack the Chinese and United States market and Ingla is excited about the possibilities of growing even further.

"We are in the top three clubs in the world in terms of commerce. We are even higher than the franchises from Major League Baseball and the NFL that, theoretically, are among the richest sports markets on the planet" he said.

"We are making a huge effort to remain close to our 160 million fans and to connect with them.

"Nearly 80 per cent of our television audience is foreign and so is more than 50 per cent of our merchandising, while Barça TV goes out in 155 countries.

"In Japan we have 15,000 members signed up to out multimedia package on mobile phones and our website sees 60 million hits per month are read in English."

After announcing that Barça would return to the United States for a pre-season tour next summer, Ingla explained why China and the US is so important.

"They are the two countries that are going to experience the biggest increase in business for football in the world," he continued.

Reflecting on the successful partnership with Unicef, Ingla believes that the link-up has given Barça a chance to spread its philosophy to far wider audience.

"Our association with them gives us the opportunity to show why Barça is more than a club and gives us a unique image in the world and the logo is on our shirts as a sign of symbolism and positioning," he explained.

Finally, the club director is confident that Barça's new deal with Nike, worth €300m over the next ten years, will continue to be one of the biggest in the game.

"The contract with Nike is the best in the market and we are convinced it will be for the next seven or eight years," he said.
