Do you believe in all rumors?

Who said Barcelona have good defenders anyway..
Nobody in England rates David Luiz at all. You used a crap defender, made something up, to prove your pount.

Barcelona dont, they are Spanish(ish).

The best defenders in England are foreign

English defenders tend to be good cloggers, but shocking footballers.

Really? Everything i hear about Priemer League defend, people always mentions David Luiz as one of the best. Not too mention English press too.

I thought we were comparing leagues and not the nationality. But i can name some good Spanish defenders. Iraola, Inigo Martinez, Javi Martinez(He is also a defender) Nacho Monreal in Malaga, Ramos, Pique and Alba are both ok. Nothing special. But not bad either. Better than England have.

You brough England into it.

Spanish defenders are all better footballers, but worse defenders.

Example, Jagielka is a cracking defender, but an appauling footballer.

And David Luiz is a running joke in England, about how bad in defense he is.

Yeah, Ramos & Alba maybe. But saying Inigo Martinez and Iraola are better footballers than defenders is......

Some are both, and you have used the extreme examples.

Rio Ferdinand is both, I also like Caulker as both.

7-0 at weekend, says defending is poor in Spain. Goalkeeping too. IMO.

He is terrible, at defending.
David Luiz would walk in to the starting line-up of:

- Barcelona, much better than Piqué or Masch
- Bayern, much better than Boateng
- meelan, no need to explain
- inter merda, no need to explain
- Man United, although this is questionable but both of Vidic and Ferdinand aren't the youngesy any more but Luiz > Evans
- Liverpool, better than Agger or Skrtel
- PSG, better than Sakho, Os or Alex. They were after him
- Monaco, no need to explain
- Arsenal, better than Mertesacker and probably better partner for Kos

I'm sure if Luiz was on the market the majority of these clubs would want Luiz

He can't get in Chelsea's team, and almost every defender you mentiioned, is a better defender that Luiz, maybe not better footballers though.

Like it doesn't happen in every league.

Luiz is not even close to Agger, Masch, Sakho and Mertesacker and Boateng probably won't be starting this season. As he wouldn't have last if it wasn't for Badstuber's injury.

Right, those of you who follow La Liga, I need some help.

My (Spanish) girlfriend's brother has gotten me to join his La Liga fantasy league. But I have absolutely no idea about Spanish 'football'. Anybody got any hot tips for me? Here is my team (which I was given by default)

GK: Jaime, Manu Herreira
DF: Carlos Martinez, Lolo, Sidneí, Dubarbier
MF: Brahimi, Rama, Orellana, Illarramendi, Parejo
FW: Seferovic, Larrivey, Nery Castillo

Any of those particularly worth keeping? I'd have posted which team they're at but I don't recognise half of these badges :D

Definitely Illaramendi, he's a promising player anyway but now that Alonso is injured for three months he will probably feature more for Madrid than he would otherwise. Seferovic is a good shout too if his goal the other day is anything to go by for how well he will do.

How bad is his injury?
It's just a bruise I believe so I think at most he will only be out for one match.
