I was watching a mid-table match the other day...I can't remember the teams exactly but the stadium didn't even look 30% full.

Why is it that Serie A only gets flack for having empty stadiums?

Because to casual fan, La Liga = Barcelona and Real Madrid.

There has been quite a bit of news on match fixing lately too. Won't expect the same noise either, because it doesn't involve Barça or Madrid.

Something will come out soon. I'm sure of it.

Spain is experiencing the same problems as Italy, they're lucky to have Real Madrid and Barcelona take some heat off of them. Once club dominance shifts over to Germany, La Liga is going to be in a lot of trouble.

Thing is that madrid have a freecard that will last for quite a while.

back in the 90ties they were on the border of bankruptcy. When they won against us in the cl final, they shouldnt have been allowed to start cause technically bankrupt.
They sold their trainingcomplex for multiple times the actual value to the city to bail them out, and bought figo, zidane and co on the back of that.

They cheated their way to a massively marketabble team. They created a big global image, and while their succes has been lacking the last decade, they managed to outperform each club and hit +500mil revenu.

Because of this massive massive revenu, it doesnt matter how the league does financially, they can handle themselves and keep beeing top dogs in the market
Barcelona did the same after a lucky Ronaldinho transfer, after nearly 2 decades of massive chocking. the genious generation of xavi, iniesta and dat messi, stretched their cycle, yet they still didnt top madrid financially.

Bayeren can get at that level if they can continue their domminance for a while, all they need is a better global immage.

but the rest of germany are seller teams. dortmund is in the final, and half the squad is allready sold apart.

in 5 years, madrid and fagcelona will still be there, bayeren will be around them, 2/3 epl teams could be somewere around, and juventus should be on the same level as the epl teams.
