Messi ran a lot and helped his friends.
Na he didn't, I watched only one game atletico - barca, but how little he works for the team was mindblowing, dunno if it's every game, but it seems he gets these instructions only to work in attack and only when he is involved. He literaly walked most of the match while the team were runing around him.

So he can save energy and score goals?

I'm not criticizing him or anything, just saying what I have seen. It looked fuuny how he walked so slow until he knew he will get the ball. It's like he is participating in the match only when he will have the ball. Just a funny thing to me, that's all.

Some games are like that, he is pretty much instructed to wait and see, just cover his space and make minimum off the ball movement (only to suddenly turn up the tempo later in the game). Usual game for him is covering alot of ground and pressuring, so some games he pretty much is told to be a typical striker with no other responsibility but waiting for the ball.

But he didin't even had the position in most of the game, the whole team passed around the athletico players to get messi in position in that game, not that messi tried to go towards where the play happened and make himself availabe :)

Born in Denmark, and i'm half Morroccan.

My grandfather was born in Navarre. Which makes me alittle Basque and kinda Spainsh in a way.
Ah, cool.

I remember you mentioning the Basque thingy somewhere, hence why I asked.
