Have you seen the episode jbf? His statement stands if you watch the episode.
No I haven't actually and according to the majority of you, I shouldn't either since I would be offended and such "funny" episodes doesn't take on account religious viewers

That's amazing.

I think it's cool too.

no, since it's 'bullshit'
This is perhaps one of the few areas where you and I culturally disagree. That show gets completely stupid and forces things way over the top too often. But the social satire there is often spot on -- and delivered in layers that few other mass media outlets touch, or do so with enough sarcastic humor.

I maybe wouldn't want those guys to be my neighbor. And the show is often in pretty foul taste. Comic genius falls off quickly at the point you start eating excrement for laughs. But I appreciate what they do sometimes -- particularly the fact that anything, and any side of a given debate, is a fair target.

You dont have a right to not be offended. No one does. They can say whatever they want, its there right to do so. The same way it is your right to say you dont like it. BUT it is no ones right to say that they cannot say/draw/publish/animate that.

If you watch the episode and you get offended by it them unfortunatley you are at the butt of the joke, the whole point of the episode is about how pathetic situations like this are. Which is why i am so dismayed as to why it has censored in the first place. Comedy Central are fucking pussies.

i am really fine with satire, unless it's driven by agenda. And the show's constant sanctimonious endorsement of certain ideas instead of others doesnt sit well with me, especially the last kyle bit of every other episode. I used to watch it some 10 years ago.

So you're saying that I shouldn't be offended if my religion and one of the most sacred religious icons to me are mocked :howler:

Lets just say I go on T.V claiming that all english people are stupid fucks and they're all thriving blood suckers while Churchill being a big ass of a PM and leader for that matter (while I don't believe any of those but making sort of a close situation) would you or would you not be offended? maybe you wouldn't and maybe such an example is poor to get the image close to your mind, but I can assure you jasp that may Muslims take such things seriously and those deserve to be both heard and taken into account when making such idiotic jokes.

I can assure you of two things:

1) He wouldn't care.
2) I wouldn't care.

You have this problem with seeing individually. If you were to rant on America, I might disagree, but I wouldn't get pissed or want to kill you because I think it is your RIGHT to do those things.

That is the difference between us. You care about everything, we care about very little.

To us it's just not a big deal, while if we were to grab our cocks and spit on the Jordanian flag you would want to knife us in the middle of the night. If you grabbed your cock and spit on the American flag, I'd probably offer you gasoline and a lighter to help you take your protest to the next level.

You would have a hard time offending me because i dont get attached to ideas very easily. As a student of history, i would argue that Churchill was more a liability than he was a help. Poor example if you want to proove a point.

You seem thought to completely missed the point of what i was saying. You can be offended all you want, but it means nothing. You have no right to not be offended.

Very true and it's a shame really, I agree.

As I said, I was trying to get the point cross not offending you. And apparently I failed to do so.

Well obviously some were offended and the episode got censored, so you can bitch all you want yet nothing will change.

That is exactly the problem. This is a serious issue and people are just shrugging it off. Censoring this episode is sad condemnation on the society we live in.

It goes fundamentally against everything i believe in.

While broadcasting that episode would have been against many muslim's beliefs.

But the media, especially the American media, should not be garnered toward anyone's set beliefs.

Like if I have a kid, a young kid, and I don't him/her to hear cursing or see violence, I don't let them watch a certain program, just as i don't watch reality shows because I think they are garbage. You should have the personal responsibility to not watch, retract yourself from the situation and respect (as you have said) other's beliefs.
