You need a good reason to stop and I had none.
Must confess I was rather surprised, I thought the health issue itself was enough
Financial concerns? No...
Another surprise, the price for cigarettes are getting higher and here in M'Sia it could get to RM 10, and that's saying something
Health concerns? Pleeeease! This morning when I woke up all cars in the streets were covered of dust for some unexplained reason. We have no bloody clue what we're all breathing daily or what's in the plate!
Maybe so, but that's not a strong reason not to worry bout the health issue. So if I'm going to die in the end because Malaysia is so polluted, the air is not clean and all, I should just smoke or even take nicotine because we're all gonna die? Hate to say it, but when it comes to health, whether you smoke or don't does make a difference. There is a difference in getting old with minor old diseases, and getting old with diseases caused by smoking. Many people are unaware, but you'd want to try your best to stay healthy for your old days' sake.
I know that smoking is just something temporary, I won't be smoking all my life.
I'd be really glad if you won't. But usually those who start smoke most probably won't be able to stop. And once you won't be able to do so, you'll carry the habit for the rest of your life. Smoking is actually quite a serious issue once you look into it.
I do my best to try and respect those around who do not smoke. That means I refrain from reaching to my pocket even when in presence of people who'd be too kind to ask me not to smoke if I know they have a problem with it of course.
If only everyone was like that!

I can't stand the smell. And it's irritating when smokers smoke in public. Though it's their right, you're still putting others in danger. And statistics have shown that we - non smokers - are more at risk when it comes to health than smokers themselves if we inhale the smoke, which can't be avoided.
Anyway, stephanho, I hope you don't mind. I was just putting my point of view in this matter
