Haven't heard that one for a while. :touched:
That and "this is juventus ffs" are pretty much the same thing.

Pepe has done well, not WC but definitely a player Juve should keep on the bench to cover two positions when called up when players like Krasic continue to miss fire.

I've never had any issue with Pepe being a squad player.

It's the spending of 10m on him that was the issue.
Two completely different issues that people enjoy combining into one. Albeit expensive to acquire, but regardless of his price he still fits the bill as a pretty decent squad player for backup.

Exactly right.

Anyway he's been pretty decent for us so far this season. What he lacks in overall ability he makes up for in heart and determination. It's pretty good to have at least one player like this in your team. Seems to be a bit of a joker in the dressing rooms too which is good for team moral etc.

Wait, someone wants Marchionni here instead of Pepe?

That guy did nothing for us. We basically paid him to get injured, get re-injured and stay injured. Pepe gives us a lot more consistency than Marchionni ever did.

started 22 games and came on as a sub 10 times

I don't get the recent hype about Pepe here. All the matches he started he failed to beat his man. During the Milan match he couldn't get past Bonera ffs. He adds nothing offensively, really nothing. The guy is a below average player. When the shit starts where will players like Pepe be then?

During the 2007–2008 Serie A return season, his second with Juventus, Marchionni suffered an injury filled season, keeping him off the pitch for most of the season. He only managed to start one game, but played a total of eleven league matches, scoring one goal.

During the pre-season to the 08-09 Serie A campaign, Marchionni was in excellent form playing in all of the friendly tournaments and matches. He will be hoping to stay in stunning form, and keep injury free for this season's Champions League, Serie A, and Coppa Italia with Juventus.

In the 08-09 Serie A campaign, he had been quickly introduced into the Juventus squad as the first choice winger Mauro Camoranesi was forced off the pitch due to injury problems. He handled this brilliantly with a handful of great performances, including the match against A.S. Roma where he scored a goal.

------------------------------------------

What hype? Who is hyping him? He is a good squad player. That isn't "hyping" someone. The guy does well when called upon. Everyone knows he isn't brilliant but beating the man is something he has done before but he has other qualities that make him useful and a nusance to play against.

He has outperformed the "hyped" Krasic so far this season.
