Simone Pepe: 5
Every game he seems to be picked in the starting XI for Italy or Juventus, but the reasons why continue to elude. He provided little pressure, didn’t go forward anywhere near enough and the goals came the moment he was substituted by the livelier Fabio Quagliarella. Coincidence?

Pepe would be a good squad player in a technically gifted side.

For Juve, however, he is just another runner in a team of runners.

This idea of converting Pepe to fullback is just as foolish as the constant suggestions that attacking fullbacks should be used as wingers.
Examples like Fabio Coentrão being a good counterexample, but the idea of converting Pepe into a player with match-impactful skills is pretty foolish to begin with.

I suppose people are thinking of Zambrotta, but Pepe doesn't have his all round game.

Why should Pepe be converted to a fullback in the first place? Because he can work hard?
Well at least offensively it seems to be a better fit IMO. Less responsibility to be creative or provide end product around the box. All he has to do is run, work hard and send in crosses. He'll probably be a little more open when he crosses so he can do well there. I think he profiles alot better offensively as a fullback.

I don't know if he can defend well enough but with his tenacity, speed and work rate he could be ok. Obviously it would require a bit of practice.
