No, yours is a weak argument which has nothing to do with what I said.

And those three are there because they have experience, something which is pretty important in a short and high-pressure tournament like the WC.
why u said that pepe is in the squad and thats something...
these players are also in the squad and that means shit.... italy's squad is just weak..

I wasn't posting here during the WC time back in 2006 but that was one hell of a squad. All of the players at their prime. I didn't tip them to win the whole thing but they were damn strong. Canna, Nesta, Zambrotta, Pirlo etc. were all great. This Italy is average compared to that. But we'll see, this is just a blind speak at the moment.
Sure it was a great squad, realistically looking much stronger than this one because a lot of players were in their prime, yeah. But hell I remember they struggled in a group with Norway, Scotland and Slovenia....I think Slovenia even beat them once. Point is, Italy is one of the most unpredictable teams in my opinion. Just because they're slagging now, doesn't mean they won't up the ante for that one month and surprise again.

I wonder though if we'd have signed him if he was from Norway or Colombia and he played for Udinese.

I must admit that I'm a little worried by this ItalJuve project. I'm not sure it's the right time to buy Italian players, considering the lack of quality in the country. Especially since being Italian makes them more expensive by default.

I see your point. It's just that back then they HAD a great team that was struggling but did good in the end. Now they don't have anyone who could surprise really, it's a team built on 3 individuals at most. Anyway, whatever, I hate this Italy talk. It makes people think I hate them.

What's there to wonder about, there's no way we'd have singed him. :p

It's clear that Italians are a priority and I agree it's not the right time to make that move. We're making a tradition out of it, while it's not helping our cause really. It makes me think we're building a Real. They invest in super stars while we invest in Italians, just because we're known for having a fair share of them in the squad.

I guess that they're going after players who know what Juve means and know how heavy the shirt is.
That's fine and all, I like heart and motivation too, but it can't successfully replace talent and quality.
I don't want us to have a nationalistic transfer campaign. Quality should prevail, not the passport the player is holding.
