Wtf is up with this game freezing??

I have to play the 2nd leg of the CL qualifiers, and every time I try to start the match, the game freezes on me. I tried setting up a friendly vs my -20 team, and same thing happens, the game freezes when it goes to the game.

I have the latest patch, running with Vista; anyone got a similar problem? Should I reinstall the game?

EDIT: oh and I paid for the game!

Ok, I launched the game in windowed mode and deactivated stadiums. Seems to be working now.
