Alright, why the hell do I keep losing and tying average teams when everyone else here seems to have won Serie A without a problem.

I was playing 4-4-2 before, now I have 4-3-1-2, still no luck.

Do I need to change tactics? Someone help before I get frustrated of this game.

I do use a 5-3-2, a rather aggressive one:

----------Alex/Miccoli-----Treze/Bojinov
--Nedved/Kapo-------------------Camo/Marchionni
----------------------Paro------------------
-De Ceglie --------Zanetti-----------Balza
------------Kovac -----------Barzagli
----------------------Buffon

Subs: Mirante, Rozenhal, Biri, Konan, Olivera and Palla.

I do switch to a 4-4-2 Diamond, on occasion, and I even use the X-Mas tree, it depends on the players available... (I still mourn the loss of Chiellini at the hands of Gigli who sold him to Bayern for €6M :( )

Ze: I haven't played FM2007 but I consider myself a rather experienced FM/CM player from previous versions..

It's all about fielding a side which offers diversity and to do this you must be able to spot the different types of competence players can offer you. There are many combinations for a really great side. Once you have the right players, it's important to 1) Make sure they do well in training (Chosing the right training setup is the most difficult aspect in the game imo, but once you get it right, your players' attributes will rise and they will perform well for you) and 2) Never play them out of position (as you obviously do with Del Piero).

He's an Attacking Midfielder and should not be played in the centre of midfield, even if you put him to the left of the centre-circle like you did.

Seeing your side on paper, I can only advise you to strengthen defensively. Try your best to bring in a superb defensive midfielder and strengthen your backline. I always build my great sides from back to front.

Thanx for the advice, I'm gonna switch it up a bit.

as for getting defenders. I had some defenders on my radar after my promotion but my economic situation was absolutely horrible. I couldn't sign anyone. They kept telling me to cut my wages, so I couldn't offer anyone a half decent contract. But come january I'm gonna stock up.

Yeah, you should look into that.

You can't play Kovac at leftback!

Also, I see you have Vanden Borre in your squad.
If you're low on finances I would advice you to show patience with this kid and field him as much as you can, nurture him into becoming a world class player. If he's anything like his previous self (in FM2006) - he definitely has the required potential.

Go win some trophies damnit :touched:

thats odd. you got to make money by selling some hot players.

i sold 44 mil worth of players and bought 46 mil worth. i still have about 10-15 mill (considering i am paying about 1.5 mil a month for the transfers still)

play Balzaretti left, kovac centre with Boumsong and right back vanden Borre. Take out Del piero and play the guy you are playing dc. Take the arrows off Bojinov and Trezeguet

Play Chiellini instead of Kovac, Vanden Borre instead of Balzaretti, and Kovac instead of Rehman in the defence.

Also play Nedved instead of Del Piero, and put Del Piero in Palladino's position. Take Bojinov out and then replace him with Palladino. Your formation should look like this:

Buffon

Vanden Borre - Kovac - Boumsong - Chiellini

Camoranesi - Zanetti - Nedved

Del Piero

Trezeguet - Palladino

Thanx for the advice guys. It's too soon to tell if the new formations worked though. I still ended up losing a handful. Right now I'm in the January transfer window, trying to sell some big players in order to get Higuain, Micah Richards, Luca Toni, Willy Sagnol.

Any suggestions who I should get?

Wtf! I signed both Richards and Gourcuff. Both signings were confirmed and accepted by me. Then it turns out, Gourcuff is still with Milan! Is this a bug or am I missing something?
