Should Beppe Marotta be sacked? (4 Viewers)

Should Marotta be sacked?

  • Yes - his signings are an embarrassment to the club

  • No - he just got us to the Scudetto and we should see where that takes us

  • WTF - When did we suddenly inherit aching ladyparts like interisti?

Oh, so that makes it alright to spend €36M on Llorente? To bid higher than €30M for Jovetic?

I wonder why we're not in the same position as the Milan clubs are in at the moment.
Milan are in the position because of their uncapped salary structure. when I said 30m, it would've got you a Suarez for eg. if we had attacked Pool when they were in two minds about the transfer and valued him at 27m. JoJo could've come for 30m when Prade admitted the gentleman's agreement. Llorente would not be worth 36m, but say we offered that for Cavani, AdL would've given it a thought or at least come to the negotiating table. 36m wouodve got you Higuain for sure. When I say we'd be overpaying by 5-7m, it would be a one time hit, given that these guys would all be on our wage structure, cap. Now they all renewed contracts and our well out of our price and salary range. 25m would've had Dzeko. No two ways about it. Again overpaying by 3-5m but that's a very small amount when you see how we are hitting this loop at the end of every transfer season.

You people are wasted on this forum.
Marrotta has failed in his primary task to delvier a CF, WC or suitable enough to be considered a decent acquisition. Hes the one who went to the press about itl and on failing so, said a striker is not a priority. How can you not fault that?

I'm talking about the same club which with all the bad investments done in the last few years, won the league unbeaten and was a finalist in the Coppa Italia last season, yes.

And Isla is a waste now too?

Yep, we should've spent €75M on RVP as United will be doing. That's like the total net spending of the years you're mentioning combined.

Dude even a half decent forward who can put the ball in the back of the net hasnt been signed..Players like Destro,Giroud were totally accessible signings but Marotta was obviously delusional into thinking that come the end of the window ,selling teams are going to reduce the asking price and obviously it dint happen when we wanted to sign Llorente. It was an absolute transfer miscalculation on Marotta's part ,its as simple as that and he deserves every bit of criticism coming his way.I am baffled that every single move from Marotta is defended to death on here and i'm hardly a marotta hater and i actually praised him for this market when Berbatov was 'supposedly signed'.

I said this before as well..Signing a forward was the main priority and enforcing this problem early on would've been ideal rather than signing someone in the latter days of the window looking for bargains but it didnt transpire did it.And this season we'll continue to live with the same problems..

No, but he's nothing special.
For 12m(his outclause fee) it would've been a really shrewd buy..I scouted him last season when we were linked with him and i thought he's good enough to play for us anyway,he did really good in the games i watched the ones against OM,PSG etc. He's a bit like Llorente and would surely have been an upgrade over our current attack..Not my fault that you dont rate him highly.

Let me guess you're going to pull out some 10-20 mediocre Italian forwards' names that are better than him ?
are we not the same ones critisizing marotta for paying 18 million for matri, or pursuing pazzini?

both of those have had more consistent scroing periods than giroud. the only reason people rate him is because he isn't italian/playing in italy.

it's he same thing llorente. if he was italian, i bet you everyone here would have called him "poor man's luca toni"

Meh.

I feel he's gonna fail big time at Arsenal.
