Thats right.. This is the problem.. Zlatan has to think "okay i have to performe or i might be dropped next time, but he dosent because he knows that Cap will play him" and thats very bad.. Capello should start benching Zlatan...
Another thing, let us not blame Capello only, is that when Zlatan is asked to start a game (especially big games) he has to stand up for the responsibility he's given. he's simply not!

It is a player's duty to give during the match as much as possible, not show that he can make wonders and at every occasion try the impossible, this is not responsibility, this irresponsibility.

Yeah but when Zlatan has been called up he hasent been on form.. he has keept playing all the games even without being on top form.. and yes ofcourse its not only Capellos fault..

Shocking, you disagree.

And are you kidding? When a coach tells you youre in the starting line up, you don't say "nooo can't del piero play instead, he's much better".

I don't think all players should give everything. Esspacially heavy ones, god I can't imagine trying to dribble in the 80th minute with that body.

He shouldn't say no, DP must play, but he shouln't try the impossible at every occasion.

Trying to dribble is throughout the game not only in the 80th minute and beyond.

As you said my posts are being annoying, so has been Zlatan the whole season.

I'd say there are no problems at all with Zlatan's technical ability. He has a good shot and also a good finish which he's shown several times. His problem is mental though. He needs to handle pressure better, to be more focused and not as hot in front of goal (and other situations). Practicing finishing after training will not help. Practicing finishing in the Serie A against weaker opponent will. Give the important games to our other, more experienced strikers meanwhile, but with Ibrahimovic being subbed in. This will help him take important matches in a more serious manner.

I think Capello is finally seeing how wrong he's been in fielding an out of form Zlatan, over DP

If he really wanted to get it right, he'd bench Zlatan for awhile, and put Mutu up top

Mutu is the better finisher

Where are you Mutu?

Are you still on the bench?

Who benched you?

Oh! That...I am sorry for both of you.

It's normal for a striker to have a run of bad form, it happens to the best of them...and Zlatan IS one of the best.. I think his main problem nowadays is that he's overdoing the technical stuff a bit and he can't seem to stay onside. If he didn't go offside as much as he does he would score plenty more goals, I assure you. So he should work on that..

I don't make a huge deal out of Zlatan's current form -- other than he's having a bad patch of it, shouldn't be starting in our most important games, and he could use some practice or training (mental if not physical) to help him break out of the funk.

A lot of overreaction here, IMO.

:agree:

Its 80% mental...20% physical.

Another thing IMO is that capello makes him feel as if he isn't having any trouble at all, by putting him from the beggining in all big games.

This is even all over the news here. Apparently Juve will be using a new ball in forthcoming matches to help Z's skills
