The guy knows nothing about what happened at the scene, only from a video shot after the confrontation took place and before knowing the facts or giving the officer his time in court for self-defense already loaded the minds of his peers that it was racially motivated.

White people kill officers too, you just never know what will happen when you pull ANYONE over.

I've been in a car twice when my black friend was pulled over for speeding and he was ALWAYS polite to the officer and respectful. Never once did I feel like the cop(s) were profiling him because of his skin color.

Some did, but the majority of times the crimes commited by the people who got shot in no way warranted that response.

It depends. Are you in law enforcement? It's hard to say what the threat looked like at the time, at least for some of the famous ones.

I worked in private security for two years prior to returning to university. I had to do inverventions occasionally in Molenbeek (you know, everyone knows where that is these days).
Its exceptionally simple. You have statistics and they never lie. You base yourself on these statistics and asses the level of risk. and act accordingly.

The racism argument, is completely retarded and disgusting.


At my current job as R&D engineer, alot of my time goes to project management, so i'm seeing a fair bit of risk assesment when it comes down to software/firmware/mechanical/design issues. The higher the risk of defects, or the more serious the consequence, the higher priority it gets.

This is literally done everywhere in the world. Its pure numbers and straightforward.

Those cops involved in those shootings shoot be tried with first degree murder. There's no excuse for what they did, ending someone's life because you got scared is not a legitimate reason. If I'm walking down the street and a black person spooks me, I don't expect to get away with murdering them.

I'm trying to think what would make someone who gets pulled over with his girlfriend and child can do that would lead to a rational police officer emptying four bullets into him. Reach for his wallet? That's what the cop says in the video.

There is no excuse for what he did. we don't know the full story but what we do know is that a cop shot a dude four times while the guy was in his car with a seatbelt on and no weapon showing.

Cops can't risk always waiting to see, ALC. That's exactly why if you are talking to an officer it's critical you don't get an attitude/argument.

Most weapons are concealed are they not? How many times have we heard in the news a cop saved his own life because he didn't wait to "see" a weapon? Probably not many because they don't get reported

Every situation is different and a cop needs to use his judgment or experience. If it was a mistake they will be punished.
