Carlton "pinhead" Palmer got Stockport religated from Division 1 to Division 3 in consecutive seasons. They sacked him at last this year, after yet another dodgy start to the season.

Damn that George Clooney ownership group.

Yes, George Clooney is part-owner, because he has a summer home there.

Just seeing Ferdinand, Campbell and Gary Neville in defence is enough evidence for me...

though the rest of the team isn't too bad

Again though, it's a subjective measure, and no indicator of league strength. If you were to post the Norwegian league's dream team, or the Latvian one, you'd get a totally wrong perception of the league's strength as both are one horse leagues, so dream teams would be composed of Rosenborg and Skonto Riga players only.

Good point mik.

The bottom line is, it's pretty hard to get an objective measure of the strength of the leagues.

Going by gut feeling though, I still say Serie A :p

I'd tend to agree, but both leagues have their points.

The reason being is that Como is a city in dire need of some sort of Renessaince, and it's already started with Clooney being a resident there. If I remember correctly, Lake Como, which is one of the most popular lakes not just in Italy, but the world, had a severe pollution problem not too ong ago, which dealt a severe public relations blow to them. The lake's been cleaned up, from what I understand.

OK, Here's my Serie A dream team.

======================Buffon========================

Oddo==========Nesta============Maldini==========Zambo

Nedved=================Gattuso=============Mancini

====================Totti======================

Sheva=========================Adriano (when healthy)

:LOL: Serge, I was wondering who Odombo was :p

I think the biggest difference is in defence. Serie A teams have the meanest defences in the world, so they have a chance of coping with Henry, RVN etc.

EPL teams on the other hand, would have rings run around them by the likes of Adriano and Sheva.

gray we performed like crap versus man united and arsenal. our tactics are such that no matter how creative and flamboyant our attackers may be, our defensiv nature will always have the whole team on a short leash.
