This is a great point I didn't catch, and you're right. The Giannichedda/Zanetti middle was too weak, IMO. If Zanetti had his A game on, that might be tolerable, but what was out there wasn't. Paro or Marchisio earlier on in the match would have been an improvement.

yeah he could do a decent job but when we are playing teams that are willing to defend with at least 5-6 then we need some kind of vision in the midfield and zanetti can't provide that. I dont understand how DD can't see this

Birindelli - 6.5 - Beautiful one-touch goal. I thought bringing him in over Zebina was a wise move because Juve were proving that they could safely send their defensive wings forward and get involved in the play, and Zebina was not getting it done at all. Biri has been in better crossing form in recent months, but it was his finish that won it for us. Add that he wasn't going to hack his way to a red card like Zebina was about to, and it was a surprising early sub but a critical one nonetheless.

I must have missed this before...

I dont think we would be talking so positively about Biri had he not gotten lucky enough to score our only goal...lets not make this look like a master-stroke decision on DD's part. Biri isnt a natural scorer, I can only imagine that Zebina was taken out because of a yellow card...that would be the only reason, for, he had a decent game

He got forward, and did a decent job...no worse than Biri. He also wasnt ready for a red card...I've seen him become a spaz in the past...foaming at the mouth and all , but he didnt lose control of himself in this game (I am not a Zebina fan, and everyone here knows this...but he did fine)
