thing is even clubs like udinese were saying serie A isnt the same without juve, i mean if it was binter nobody wud care, but juve, we are the pride of italy, we represent italy, its like the heart has been removed and serie A is now a dead corpse.
:agree: The world identifies Italy with Juventus - no-one gives a toss about inter. Serie A will not pick up until Juve get their promotion.

I was very happy when I read:
Gazzetta dello Sport
Spectators: Serie B good, Serie A loses 13 per cent

Tuttosport
Everyone wants Juve
They are first in papers and on TV. And Serie A loses 80,000 fans

So, Italy killed themself by putting Juve in Serie B.
I knew that the moment the rumor of demotion started getting spread around. Serie A risked poking its own eye out to spite its face.

Argh. :eyepatch:

this is all true and i agree with everyone, but remember that serie a, b, c... are all the same at the end of the day -----> they are businessess and the bottom line for a business is its bottom line. obviously serie a is the breadwinner of italian football but as the season goes on more and more fans will shy away from serie a because juve is no longer coming to their city to play their team. it was a foolish decision to relegate us because everyone wants to see us kick their teams ass and people will pay high prices just to see the black and white on the pitch. its all about the paper.

De Canio say´s that without juve it is not serie A..

I read that in channel4.com and I was like, well what'd people think?

The Italian Federation was hassled by Rossi, who left as soon as mission was accomplished by first ensuring the league starts without Juve.

The final act is to see Inter lift the Scudetto, but as we will see tonight, it aint gonna happen.

Like I said before, Serie B will in some ways outclass Serie A, PURELY becuase Juventus was demoted.

And TV shows about calcio on tv (controcampo, domenica sportiva and such) are losing between 25% and 30% viewers and rumors say that newspapers are not doing that well either. Juventini (consciously or not) have just stopped giving them their money.
So they have started to invite Juventini almost everywhere (at the moment we have Balzaretti on controcampo), Moggi works as opinionist in newspapers, they even have started lighten the "humor" against us in the commercials on tv (yeah, you read right, in Italy you aren't spared by this s.it not even in the annoying commercials on Tv and radio).

Well, people, you can as well forget our money because I, for one, will meticulously avoid everything yours or connected to you.

Serie A this year sucks. Look at all the soft goals the keepers let in. Doesn't help it's suckiness that Juve ain't in it.

Serie A crowds fall to 40-year low

ROME (AFP) - Italy may well be world champions, but football fans are staying away from Serie A matches in their droves.

After 10 matches this season, the average attendance of a top flight game has fallen to 19,361 - its lowest figure for 40 years, the La Repubblica newspaper has reported.

The paper also said that Serie A crowds are down by 10,000 compared to figures over the same 10-game period a decade ago.

The slump in gates could be put down to several factors: television, high ticket prices, poor stadium facilities and hooliganism.

The Italian match-fixing scandal - which involves five Italian clubs and resulted in the relegation of Juventus - may have also left fans disillusioned.

Italy's deputy Sports Minister Giovanni Lolli said the government were extremely concerned by the alarming drop in attendances.

"We are working on an extensive project to radically change the situation," he told La Repubblica.

the relegation of Juventus
That did not put fans off watching Juve - they just went to serie B matches instead. Didn't serie B attendances go up?

Fans are disillusioned with serie A, because of the farce of calciopoli, which has left serie A more corrupt than ever.

Baah, Serie A can choke and die without Juventus.
The only thing I care about is that Inter should go looong away from the scudetto.
I rather see teams like Siena, Livorno or Atalanta ending up in the last 4-5th..

Milan & Inter=Wankers!
