Olivera was actually a starter for a short period of time (including 'if I don't play I'll leave' comments from Camoranesi). But the problem was he was way too inconsistent, and that inconsistency makes him a poor sub. Olivera in top form is certainly good enough to be a sub for Camo, but at the moment I would rate Marchionni much higher.

where I don't have a clue of what Olivera would be capable of. Juventus is too big a club to give young players the patience to reach their potential, unfortunately.
I think its a little harsh on saying his inconsistent when all in all his proberly only played two/three whole games and came on as a sub near to 4 times. Afterall even camoranesi was poor when he started in the juve lineup in his early days. Theres several players who would evidently play the same in their prime stages. I mean an example is ibrah, who although had previous sucess (ajax) somehow is still struggling to be consistent. Olivera has been long enough at this club for the club to recognise his talent and yes it is unfortunate that we aint patient with the youth especially as our squad ages. Im a firm believer of integrating some youth players with the seniors. I dont expect more than 1 or 2 players but I think Arsene wenger did that very well and we actually got humiliated by a group of enthusiastic and determined youngsters. Its time capello learned that a few risks in the line up is necessary and by playing the same old players throughout the week is exactly why we have no chance for the CL.

Also the marchionni matter doesnt really apply yet simply because we still have many games to go before the season finishes.

Indeed, our average age is the highest in the champions league. That's the only thing I blame Capello, thinking short term rather then long term. Of course we won't have an Arsenal-like pool of youngsters, but I think that the 'age scale' of the sqaad was much more balanced two years ago.

Btw, your example with Ibrahimovic is quite poor. He was INCREDIBLY inconsistent during his time at Ajax, just ask any supporter :)

Juve subito in avanti con Trezeguet.

lol true, even so i guess that explain what i was trying to say. There seems to be a little bit too much of favouratism for one player than the other and like today we see the same old sh*t from capello. No guessing the squad for arsenal then.
