Our players move the way that isolates Diego. When he takes ball strikers go ahead, defenders and midfielders go behind. Ho Diego is alone and there is no one near him. So where can't be any quick play, short passes and so. :(

    Where is Diego?
    Who is 18?
That's a mistake, it should have been 28, they meant Diego as 18 and this team distribution looks horrible, we are pushed in our area. We were simply absent in the final third.

Ekdal, an 18 year old player owned by us and loaned to Siena, owned our midfield!

Our style of football is a pain to watch, difficult to digest, and disgusting to stomach.
gimme a friggin' break, how the hell did they "own" us? they barely touched the ball in the 1st half, and a few nice moves by Ekdal means he destroyed the MF?

Give ekdal credit though, he was the only one in their midfield that was daring to take any risks, especially in passing. He wasn't afraid to get stuck in either. He got Camo really well too, but I don't agree with the assessment he owned our midfield. He played well though, I will give him that.

The highlights can be seen on the link above.
Now, we had most of the possession. Maybe even 60-65%. To all the possession we had, look how many chances we had, how many chances Siena had, and see from where did almost all our chances come.
    Yup, from set-pieces.

It's painful to watch us rape the ball and do absolutely nothing with it.

My main point is this: We can't brake defenses, we don't move the ball well, and letting this set of Juve players (no Del Piero, no Tiago, no Giovinco) have possession is actually counter productive because they can't do anything with the ball possession, they're far from being Barcelona and keep the possession well. They lose the ball very often and leave us vulnerable on counters. We depend on set-pieces.
So the question is: Why not play Giovinco?
Even if we ignore his technical skills and the fact that he helps Diego play his game better, we still can't ignore the fact that the boy wins tons of free kicks for us, and that's exactly where we're the most dangerous - Set-pieces.

    totally agree, Alen

Giovinco has some nice runs, but he is so small that he seeems to always get knocked off the ball, which does win us many free kicks

When is DP coming back ??

I blame our CMFs, they are not making any runs or making any avenues for Diego to play them the ball...the poor fella has to battle 3 opposition players, get beaten up like a rag doll and eventually get fouled for us to get a chance at goal...the 3 guys behind him must be more proactive
