And these defensive duties are keeping him back as well as the team offensively. When Nedved played in the centre he didn't have to do the tracking back he now has to and this allowed for quick transitions from the defensive midfield where Tacchinardi and Davids won the ball to our attacking third. Even if Pavel still acts as a playmaker, he was much more effective behind the strikers.
Have u guys watch Trezeguet during this match???
it is not that DP could have done better, cuz even my grandmama could play better than Trezeguet yesterday....
I cannt understand how some of u rate him so high.... I would not be satisfy of his performance yesterday even if he scored an equalizer for us.... he was SLEEPING during the game, it is not like if I'm a finisher then I should rest my @ss till somone provide me with an easy ball....

A bit of both imo. The obvious answer would be the players, but Capello could have brought in someone with creativity or kept Nedved in the middle where his attacking qualities are much more useful than on the left. As it is, Nedved and Camoranesi have a lot of defending to do when we're under pressure, and when they're called upon to help out the back four, our strikers are even more isolated from the midfield than ever before. With Nedved behind them we would have a good attacking outlet to help the attackers. If Capello continues to play with 2 DMs and Neddy on the left flank, then DP should partner Zlatan because he'll at least drop deeper to help get the attacks started.
This is no lie, but I saw more of Del Piero than Trezeguet yesterday 
@m_elayyan: That isn't true. When DP is on the pitch and not performing you call for Trez or Zlatan to be brought on, but when Trez or Zlatan aren't doing well, as was the case yesterday, you say that Del Piero wouldn't have made a difference.

We're gonna go really far in Europe with a midfield that can't create and a striker who needs his teammates to put the ball right on his foot (or head) inside the area with some space... We already know that this midfield lacks creativity and that the service to the strikers won't be perfect, so why play someone like Trezeguet who NEEDS the service to be good when you know that the service won't be good.
