We should really thank Del Neri tonigth, coz he gave us the match we he made the stupid move of taking our Makinwa...

I was really cheering Palermo at the end, I wanted sooo bad that they tioe the game, to show what really happend in the game, two crap teams playing soccer.

Im sorry if I sound to harsh but Im soooo upset to watch the game, I mean we played bad, we won becouse Palermo is a really crapy team, I mean is not even the shadow of what this team was last season.

Im very upset with Capello, I mean this guy is soooooo proud that he doesnt make changes at all!!! I mean what game was he watching to let Ibrahimovic play that long!! the guy was losing balls and making stupid moves the hole game!! Note to Zlatan: STOP MAKING STUPIDS BACKHEALS!!!, and this is not about Del Piero, if Capello does not want to put Del Piero the enter Zalayeta, or put Balzaretti and move Mutu upfront!!

And why does he puts Del Piero when the game is alredy over!? what was the point??? if you want to lose some time put freaking Oliveira on!!!

About the players, well Mutu played a great first half, and thats why he is my MOM, becouse no player played a greta hole game tonigth.

Abbiati: He played ok, at the end he save our a$$ when he took the ball out of Carioccolo's head.

Thuram: He was not great, at the first half he was sufering alot against Makinwa, its a good thing that Del Neri toke him out, after that our defence didnt have problems.

Cannavaro: Solid game.

Pessotto: You cant ask for more to him, he is old and now that is showing.

Chiellini: Awful, just awful. Palermo was very dangerours in the fiorst half, and almost all the attacks they had were coming from the wings, becouse Pessotto was slow and Chielini forgot that he has to defend. The kid goes forward and never comes down!

Emerson: He was ok, I have no complains about him.

Vieira: He is returning and its nice to see that in moments he got his act tocgueter. He makde a great pass in the second goal.

Camoranesi: My second choise for MOM, he run alot, he was they only one creating soime soccer the hole game.

Mutu: He had an awsome first half, he has to start every game... HE HAS TO!!! , stone cold in the first goal and class in the second one.

Ibra: Zlatan is a incredible player, he makes incredible moves on the field, but somethimes the fact that he needs to to everything the hard way makes him look VERY bad, tonigth was one of those games. I cant believe that a guys from his heigth falls so easy, he pass were awful, he constantly keeps making backheals, wich only ONE was good, in the second half he wasnt even trying, and I can get that a player has a bad game, but when the players actitude is whats wrong thats when I get really mad, Ibrahimovic at moments wasnt even attacking, he was watching the game from the center of the field. Bottom line is that Zlatan is a great player, but even great players somethimes need some becnh time to gte his act togheter and Zlatan needs that. I hope that next game he play better coz we really need him.

Trez: The problem when we dont ceate oportunities is that Trez doesnt show. He had two chances one that hiot the post and the other one at the end of the game wich was a really claer one. Im not going to be harsh on him, coz I know Trez game.

DP: Enter at the 40 minute, so what do you want from him... No rating.

Blasi: He enter becouse Pessotto got injured, Im not gonna talk about him coz quite honestly I didnt even saw him.

Capello: SUBSTITUTIONS!!! make some fraking substitutions for a change!!!

Bottom line, Im glad that we won, but it wasnt becouse we were the better team it was becouse the other team was crap.

Another lackluster performance however that is nothing new with this side...Palermo came out and took the game to us rather nicely in the first half and really pressured us into making mistakes. Del Neri wanted his men to play quick and exploit our usual sluggish starts and he succeeded to some extent. Fortunately for us no team is able to keep up the pace throughout the duration of the match and Mutu really pulled through for us this time...I have said it time and time again Mutu deserves a starting role in this team and he continues to show why.

For some reason our defense looked rather disorganized tonight and somewhat shakey in the first half when Palermo pressured us. Our right side of defense was especially suspect and both Pessotto and Thuram had off nights as well. After the goal by Palermo they lost some of their spark and we were lucky we got a few breaks with Mutu in the first half because we did not really create many chances for ourselves. The way Adrian was patient enough to wait for his opportunity to strike in the first goal was sheer class, and after that we started to play better...thats not saying much though.

Our midfield was terrible today and Palermo really controlled the center of the park better than we did, which is rather worrying. Vieira has not been the same player for some time and I thought Emerson gave the ball away too much in midfield as well.

Another thing that bugs me about this match was the substitutions again...Capello seemingly never wants to make any chances even though it was obvious we needed a couple. Pessotto was not doing too well out there and we could have used something another option up top in the 65th minute, not the 85th. People here make such nonsensical claims like substitiutions only cause problems or whatever nonsense, however how many teams never use any substitutions for fear of problems occurring? Makes no sense...if a change needs to be made make the change, it's as simple as that. Enough waiting for as long as possible..

Abbiati actually looked impressive for a change and made some nice saves today.

Pessotto was not very good tonight and made a couple mistakes that could have cost us...however Blasi would have been worse probably.

Thuram made some usual mistakes again today and if he continues on this path we need a replacement...one time he left his position in defense and rushed up to midfield where he missed a tackle, thus leaving Pessotto all alone with Makinwa at the back. The latter almost scored. Then Thuram missed a few marks which is never good to see...he needs to improve.

Cannavaro was solid as usual.

Chiellini has improved a bit however he stills needs to work on everything.

Camoranesi had a decent first half however disappeared in the second.

Emerson made a few crucial interventions in midfield however he still could have done a better job shutting down Corini.

Vieira was average again tonight and I hope he can regain the form of earlier this season.

Mutu was easily the man of the match as he saved our asses...deserves to start from now on...no if ands or buts.

Trezeguet really did not get much service however he hit the post once.

Ibrahimovic did not do much apart from do some fancy backheels which amounted to nothing most of the time. I still have not seen a response to the question I posed at halftime...

Del Piero did not do much however thats what happens when you are brought on 5 minutes from time.

Blasi shot the ball over the bar as usual.

we were going to get our scoring chances. It was all going to come down to how well we would close up Palermo's opportunties. (And yes, I called the exact final scoreline, thank you very much )

Ultimately, with the three points, you have to take the win... even if it wasn't pretty and required a bit of luck as well. Palermo missed some opportuntities that could have made this a much different game.

The first half we survived a lot of Palermo's pressing offense and managed to score in a couple of clamoroso situations on the counter, thanks to the heads-up play of Mutu in both of his goals.

Forget the personal records that were brushed aside in this match: Trez's scoring streak stops at 9, DP's club record has to wait another day. The absolute #1 important thing is the victory.

Some player ratings:

Abbiati -- He saved our bacon a number of times for holes in our defensive line. That last lunge from out of the goal to tip over Caracciolo's head probably earned us two points right there. Almost my choice for MOM, but not quite. He's really showing good instincts of when to come out of goal now, and he's dangerously throwing his body into harm's way to cover saves. He's also not fumbling his first attempts at saves. Solid. And you can't fault him for the immediacy of Terlizzi's goal to open the match. 7, but he could have deserved a 7.5

Pessotto -- Our captain put in another workman-like effort that we've come to expect. A little help in ball control, but not much in the way of offense. He also appeared slow when challenging Palermo's charging attack, and it's fortunate that we didn't get burned by it. 6

Canna -- Some nice backline play ... and some good disruptions coming up field on occasion. Not too many mistakes. 6.5

Thuram -- A little sloppy at times. He missed his marker on occasion, but otherwise helped cover for our weaknesses at the defensive wings. 6

Chiellini -- Dreadful. Hideous. I can't believe this guy wasn't pulled. He added nothing to the offense, and that was the best I could say about his performance tonight. His backline performance was dreadful -- losing several balls to Palermo in situations he should have held possession or paassed it to an open teammate. Worst of all, at least two occasions he made an upfield pass to the wrong team, almost resulting in goals. 4.5

Vieira -- His form still is sagging. Not contributing much on offense as he had to start the season, and he has not found his rhythm for ball possession. It used to be that he was the player I most trusted good things will happen when he has a touch. That has now gone, for me, to Camo. 5.5

Emerson -- Thank heavens for Emo. He made up for Vieira's sub-par performance, as has been the requirement a little too frequently of late. Good defensive disruptions to keep Palermo from getting anything too easy. 6.5

Camo -- Once in the second half he had two defenders on him down the right wing. Twice I thought he'd turn the ball over in that run, and twice he out-maneuvered his opponents -- eeking out a tough cross that Zlatan could only head wide. But he showed real poise and resiliency in ball control and attack. 7

Mutu -- His first half performance was inspired. His heads-up play got us our two goals... including some assisting to himself for the first. But his second half was pretty abysmal, IMO. IMO, Capello made a mistake in not subbing him in the second half for DP, despite his first half heroics. Still, he was the difference in the game in the end. MOM. 7

Ibrahimovic -- Some real insult wars here whether he was effective or not in the first half. In the first half and some of the second, I think he was. Palermo's defense was obviously reacting to him. He may not have created enough damage directly, but indirectly his influence was felt because Palermo was defensively paying serious respects to him ... influencing their game plan. Still, his finishing was off tonight and he should have contributed to at least another goal, and didn't. Missed opportunities. 6

Trez -- Wasn't involved in much of the first half at all. Got some good touches in the second half -- and particularly with his late pairing with DP when Juve counterattacked on the break. I'm upset that we didn't get at least one goal out of those opportunities. While Trez didn't get his goal to continue his record streak, overall he played well ... if not for a near miss and some good reflexes from the Palermo goal. 6

Subs:

Blasi -- Somebody tell this guy not to go forward and waste the build-up of one of our offensive attacks. He's been a sure-fire formula for wasting it buy launching Sputnik II from his right foot. Not much to add on defense either ... I was nervous the whole time. 5

Del Piero -- He was only out for a few minutes, but he scooped up a number of counterattack chances that kept Palermo from pressing for the equalizer and chewed up the clock. Problem was that he had some clear lanes of open opportunity and squandered them when we should have scored another insurance goal. But a beautiful cross to Trez late in the game. 6

Capello -- Rough match. This was a really physical game, with fouls abound and a lot of collisions. Our guys, and Palermo's, are going to carry bruises for some time after this match. Cap's squad worked, but I hoped for a better defensive effort. His sub choices were not very good -- e.g., Mutu should have been pulled in the second half despite his MOM play in the first half. But we got the 3 points. 5.5

cap uses same tactics in cl also....look last season...this goes on this season as well.....whats the reason to put in a striker anyway for last 5 minutes if you lead for example...use a defender then.....

Think yourself....we could call it a Capello subtactic......instead of that...dont make a substitution....for god sake...a player has to warming up to get 5 minutes to play? pathetic.... and then has to take a shower with others....instead of he could go straight away home

Ok, that last one was a joke....but in CL this things is helping other teams...capello late sub tactic is soon/if not already known by other CL teams and we could loose even to bremen....

ps, i am not a dp lover...mutu has had the same thing and that kind of tactic wont get us CL....i dont understand that "hail all capell!" his the master tactic bla bla bla bla bla.............with the team we have we could use differant formations....ok trez is good and ibra also...but come on...those players also need rest...we are to predictable with tactics....other teams will kill us(barca, chelsea).......

Say what you want about me telling bad things about capello....is it my fault he came to juve in the first place??? i am a juventus fan, not a capello fan in the end, and the thing is, our game performances arent good, even when we win

I know we all are unhappy about all those CL finals we lost....but atleast we played good football imo that time, and well in the final, someone always loose....Cap was great only with milan in europe....

Mutu did a magnificent first half. I would give him 8 for first and 6 for second. But 8 after FT because his goals were so important.

Abbiati astounding 8.

I will rewatch the game once more as I have recorded it. I was very frustrated at our defense. Palermo's offense were very strong today and overmanouvered our defense at many times.

Viera was wasn't worth more than 5.5 today. Probably just 5.

Emerson was good today. 6.5. Didn't do many offensive work but secured most of the balls that came in his way.

Camoranesi had some interesting creativity going on on the right flank and some great crosses. 6.5

Trez: A magnificent player when he scores but invisible when he ain't. 6.

Zlatan: Did a good first half with lots of interesting and unpredictable passes out of situations that would otherwise resulted in nothing. Better at not giving away the ball, better passes (lots of passes). Better behavior, he seem to be more sharp now. Had some very nice finishing. I like how he sometimes plays as an AM and picks the ball far down and works it with the team up in the field. Hunted the ball more than he used to. There were some negative things though, when tried the hard passes a little bit too much and sometimes they only reached the Palermo players. 7.

good win for juve. it is not easy to in Palermo, we were lucky in some situations, but I would say it was deserved..

Abbiati 6,5: some nice saves..

Pessoto 5,5: he is too old, but he was not that bad

Canavaro 6,5: good as allways.

Thuram 6: solid but in the last time I am not very confident with him.

Chielini 5,5: he must be closer to the opponent.

Camoranesi 6,5: very good game from him

Viera 6: He can be much better

Emerson 6,5 won some crucial balls in midfield

Mutu 7,5 : MAM, he scored 2 great goals, and he was even good in defensive work, he was tired in the second half

Trez 5,5: he was not much visible and missed a good chance.

Ibrahimovic 6: he made many mistakes but was involed in both goals.

I saw it that way too. Cap seemed to be doing his job of keeping the team from being complacent in the closing minutes and allowing a late equalizer, which Palermo was certainly capable of in this match with the way the midfield winds were blowing.
