I am still an optimist for the fourth place. All we need is the team to be motivated. I liked our spirit today, we were robbed, I liked Barzagli and with Matri I think we have a goalscorer. All we need is motivation, some self confidence gained and consistency. And of course Krasic to get back to his form.

All we really need is a better coach. Someone who will NOT play Grosso and Grygera, not play Marchisio on the left, not play the stupid 4-4-2, and not make bonehead substitutions when needed!

Can we start betting on when Del Neri will be fired?

Fourth place? Are you out of your mind?
No I am not. With other teams slipping as well and dropping points every now and then and us just getting that confidence and motivation back I think fourth place is ours to get starting from the Cagliari match

TBH, 4th place will become a possibility ONLY if Del Neri is replaced with someone smart. Unless that is done, say goodbye to 4th place. My expectation now is to not finish lower than 7th place

Del Neri's starting to act like a dipshit. What is this Aquilani Sissoko shit whenever we're fucking losing. Let Aquilani bleed a bit if needed, he's a big boy.

Can't believe we're losing so much. Goodbye Champions League, nice knowing you.

So where are all those folks that blamed the system for last year's failure? Here we are one year later and we are in the exact same predicament, albeit with the straight 4-4-2 and a more "experienced" manager. Replace Diego with Krasic and you have a carbon copy of last season.

It's much more than just the system. Of course, the current system doesn't help much, but mentality and confidence are the main problems along with the lack of quality players. We have such a conglomeration of problems that only the best would be able to work ourselves out of it. And unfortunately for us, we aren't on the right path with regards to what we call "improving the squad" either.

Del Neri destroyed the game for us even before kickoff. Playing Grygera when Sorensen is available is grave folly in itself, and so were his substitutions. In the second half we looked like we wanted to win the game, put some good things together while Palermo sat back, but it was too little and too late. The crossing from the fullbacks was of course horrible along with our finishing. Same story, as always.

Buffon - 5
Grygera - 3
Barzagli - 5
Chiellini - 4.5
Grosso - 5
Krasic - 5
Aquilani - 4.5
Melo - 5
Marchisio - 6.5
Matri - 4
Del Piero - 4

Sissoko - 0
Martinez - 4
Brazzo - NA

We want to be respected, that's all we ask: there were fouls not whistled and we didn't get a penalty that was shocking. - DN

I don't think it's a good idea to replace DN now. Who would you sign? There are not so many good choices around. We will make the same mistake like last year with Ferrara. All we need is some good refereeing and a winning streak. BTW when is De Ceglie back?

It was a piece of art :agree:

It's almost as if those subs were an answer to the question DN was asking himself: "How can I stop my team from keep pushing and scoring an equalizer?"
Yep. This is the nuevo catennacio where the Italians try to destroy their own ability to win.

Why everybody is mentioning only one penalty? The handball! There was another clear foul on MAtri when he was held and pulled inside the box.

Exactly. We won't fire DN, and even if we do, we will not replace him with a good coach. Either way, we're fucked! I do not expect to see us regain our confidence again this season. We'll again go through periods of inconsistency, and finish off the season as a big failure. Only hope is that we don't fail as bad as last season.

If we have DN or some bum off the street, it doesn't matter. DN has lost the plot with the team (if he ever had it). Keeping him on will resign us to more losses and a conscious person just can't sit around letting it happen.

Yeah...most probably, only today's performance gives me a little hope that we can improve and hopefully the injustice that was done to us tonight will motivate the whole team to leave their hearts on that field and do their best to get that 4th place
