Why is Caceres showing for the ball in the center of the pitch when he's a wingback? He's got all the space in the world out right yet limits himself around the central Livorno players.

Just nonsense stuff. These guys don't know what they're doing out there

Free kick almost from the middle of the pitch, deep ball, Legro jumps and heads it in.
He finally won an air duel and thanks God for the good timing.

Diego with the assist.

HT

We started the game slightly better than our previous match. Livorno had couple of good chances and scored one of them through the midget Filippini(header).

We didn't react bad and thankfully we scored 7min before HT.

I think we can win this match but Grosso needs to be subs ASAP.

Caceres on the other hand isn't playing any good. Cannavaro is covering his side while he's disappearing most of the times and he didn't even attack.

Too much confusion out there. Caceres and Grosso don't appear to understand their roles as wingbacks, Canna and Chiellini are getting pushed too far out wide while defending, leaving holes at the back, and we still aren't getting much pressure down the wings at all. Since that is the case, the only threatening chances we create are from set pieces, which were lackluster to begin with.

But this problem on the wings is to be expected. You can't field this system when you don't have classy wingbacks. I knew Zach would try this crap sooner or later, not understanding his own favorite system. Caceres can't even control the ball -- you expect him to provide us chances all by himself on the wing Mr. Zach?

Just ridiculous, and the only saving grace was the well-placed free kick.

Only difference I see apart from the tactical facets over the last few months is that the players seem to be moving and showing for the ball a bit better, but not by much. And the end result -- No no goles -- still exists.

Grosso.... :sergio:

4-3-2-1 is our solution

Momo - Melo - Candreva

Giovinco - Diego

Amauri
Always when we run out of options on the field best solution is to take Dp out for anyone.

Why can't we keep the same formation but play Giovinco on the flank for the useless Grosso?

Del Piero is by mile one of our best players in this half.
