What makes me feel a bit better is that we ended up before the break with 6 points behind just like last season, and our black-december is gone now. Let's look forward to the excellent coming matches next year. Hoping that in 2 weeks, all our squads will be back on form by then.

I'm glad there is a two week rest now so they can train the defence
defence?.... dont overlook our midfiled impotencey tonite... before everyone is worried about a sub for nedved... hell i can safely say we have no sub for tacchinardi.... meresca and appiah made no effort to stamp theri mark and control the mid at all...

and Di Vaio...*arrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* *pulling hair* ...whateva did he do today...Lippi should have sub him instedt of DP....

just managed to catch the match on the last 10 mins, so how was DP played?? was he really playing really bad till lippi has to take him out>>??, and so glad that trez score a goal, one point is better than nothing,.....
DP was subbed for tactical purpose.. he can thank Iuliano for that... and we needed another approach inso thats why we insert Camo as he can steal the ball and run with it...

@aressandro: When Iuliano got sent off I figured that an attacker would make way for either a midfielder or a defender, but how did Del Piero play for the 77 minutes that he was on the pitch? He didn't do too well did he? but hey, Miccoli got subbed before him and apparently Di Vaio had another off day.

I do agree about our midfield and even think that it's more crucial than the defence.

Don't blame Di Vaio, all our squand played badly tonight

Saw the match..

Your goal was offside as Camoranesi was very much active in the play: he was the reason that the keeper and defenders didn't pursue Trez. NEVERTHELESS
You played a better game and deserved to WIN based on the last five minutes alone...so there.

Also, SIT Di Vaio's lazy ass on the bench..when will you realize he cannot match up to Trez????

OK JUVE TIES..
MILAN LOSES...
And Neddy wins the Golden Ball...all a week after Milan lose the Coppa Intercont.

don't EVER blame me for not facing the music/firing squad!!!!!!

Cheers Merry Christmas Zebras.

Can't say that I agree with you as Ferrara, Iuliano, and even Legrottaglie have been better than Montero this season. Paolo never looks comfortable, and though he has experience, he's the worst passer out of all of our defenders.
I had high hopes about Legro at the start of the season, but alas he has had yet another terrible game. We always play better in defence with Montero than Legro. Hope the kid recovers.

Well....

I have to admit, I feel a little sorry for lecce, They deserved the full 3 points today without question.
They were robbed by numerous iffy decisions ,an offside goal against and the the ref inexplicably gave a ridiculous amount of added minutes to try for a goal.
I found the whole thing a disgrace

Now to the more important thing... Juve

We were awful... or should i say our midfield were awful
The match jus proved how important tacchi (though most here seem to want rid of him) is to juve.

Simple fact ... we do not perform well without him.
Many dont likehim cause hes not exciting he doesnt seem to do alot... but he does he is so important and the only player we have that can command a midfield.

Those saying maresca can play that role... keep on dreaming... he has his uses but not at the heart of our midfield... he was awful

The defense were all poor though the main blame has to go to the innability of our midfield.

Of the defense they were all poor and no one can really be singled out... Luliano was by far our best until he let himself down... but i cant blame him for that either.

None of the forward line were to blame .. they did what they could with the little supplied to them... yes people will blame dp for a miss or divaio for his 3 misses... but no one scores everytime and they did well enough.

The only forward who dissapointed me was Miccoli who was in my opinion the worst player on the pitch.

The lack of nedved... dont think it made any difference... the weakness of our midfield and the subsequent defensive problems would have left him isolated as well...

A poor day at the office, but not the end of the world.

We now have a break and a chance to regroup... I have no doubt we will come back fightin and strong again.

Personally I dont think we will win the league... but that has nothing to do with our recent form, I jus feel as i did from day one this season that roma are the strongest side in serie a and will take the title,,,Plus its very rare for a team to win 3 years running... so i give the serie a to roma...
But we should come second and have a good cl and coppa run

Incubo come on that was objectively not off-side according to the rules. The linesman was really good there just like he was good at seeing that the ball did not go behind the goal line before. Ball was going to Trezeguet and Camoranesi was just walking on the pitch uninterested in the action.

Most of the Juve players were terrible today especially in the first half. In the second half they were better as we pressed them hard in their own half though not creating much. Ironically we created more when we were playing a man less.

Best players for Juve must have been Appiah (defensively he was great at stopping players and he gave Trez a great assist) and Camoranesi (as soon as he came in, he added flair to our midfield, dribbling players creating chances).

All forward line was crap, except obviously Trez who did what he was brought in to do. Sorry but Micco, DV and DP were terrible, in part cos the Lecce defence held them well but also because they were just stepping on each other's feet.

I'm sorry but Micco and DP cannot play together.

Yes after the first half that's what I thought, but the second half Juve deserved minimum a point, especially if you consider the last 10 minutes.

They were robbed by numerous iffy decisions ,an offside goal against and the the ref inexplicably gave a ridiculous amount of added minutes to try for a goal.
Iffy decisions? Which? The ref got good votes at the end of the match, he could have easily thought Maresca's shot was over the line but both him and the linesmen got it right. Also Iuliano's sending off, he could have said that the Lecce player was offside, but fairly enough he sent Iuliano off.

The offside goal was not offside, or did the rules change?

The injury time minutes (5) were good enough considering there were 6 subs (3 mins) a player being sent off (30 secs) + a couple of Lecce players wasting time on the floor.

i suggested we tried, and we did....so we know now that it wont work. it's either DP-trez, DP-DV, DV-trez, trez-micco, micco-DV rite....? but since moggi is soooo keen to get rid of trez, expect small fwds from now on. unless lippi decides to play zala....

Thanks for ur comments.. but Trezeguet was clearly ON SIDE and camoranesi did nothing to participate in the play.-.. he was even walking out of the box when trezeguet was getting the ball from the free kick. Sorry INcubo.

About the game.
Well, everyone have said evrything about it.
Our defense did not very well. The header that leggro missed ,(but mostly the unmarked lecce guy) was the main point of our against goal.

Iuliaon! That red car was evry well deserved and i had long time not to see a ugl foul like that!, Good work Iuliano!.

Maresca ,Appiah: Definitely not their day. wasting passes and wide shots.

Miccoli DP, Divaio: The best of the 3 was DP, after him miccoli and then divaio whop had another off day!.
Zalayeta: He did not bad, he wasted some chances but he tried very hard!. Some nice movements and a great shot on goal!

The best players on the pitch were Buffon undoubtely!, Zambrotta who seemed very lively, Camoranesi who created havoc in the last minutes and some nice moves and Trezeguet who scored a goal and did a great shot in the injury time!.

In summary, i think that the worst aspect of the game, apart from the well known weakness in the defence... was the lack of creativity in the mid, which ended in doing crosses to very small players like dp and miccoli all the time.

WE need a sub for nedved and another good defender!.

6 points behind roma...and milan have another game on hand. Everything is not lost.. but we have to improve our defence considerably. I dont want to be pessimist, but at this rate...we will not be able to handle strikers like henry , ronaldo and vanistelroy f we fought against them.

and , like i said before... we will have to foght hard to defeat roma!.

Zizou: Here is why I can't agree.

Ask yourself: If Camoranesi was in an onside position would a player have followed Trez. as he skipped outside the defenders? What was the reason they let Trez. go and had their hands in the air? It was Camoranesi. Had Camoranesi been ON SIDE the keeper and Lecce players would resume playing and not concentrate on the fact that a player was offside. He was a distraction to the keeper and defenders...making him active and obstructing. Sorry can't buy it.

However I saw an elbow to Camo's face that should have been a possible send off or yellow card and nothing was called and I also saw another bad hit on a Juve player. Juve woke up in the last five minutes or ten.

Milan: I will say this: I now know what some of you meant with saying Pippo either scores for 3 months or does not. Until he starts scoring everygame is going to come down to the wire because Sheva can't carry the attack. Kaka is too young to carry the team and at this point I would bench Pippo to boil his blood. More over, when it rains it pours: Pirlo misses a PK! i would have made Costacurta take the kick: I'm not kidding. Who do you think is one player who would take the kick of their lives to redeem themselves? HUH!
Much like you we have a problem that we still rely on 35 + plus year old defenders to patch things up and the young 'pups' are not trustworthy. (Costacurta in our case Ferrara in yours)
