as i read these posts , i feel terribly sorry for what i've seen from some people here , just imagine if a Milan fan stepped in and read all these posts , what a shame !! this is a very hrad preiod we are entering these days but that means that we MUST back the team to finish the last 5 matches with the most positive results we can

forza mighty Juve
Those ppl that u mentioned, including me and a few others here r still faithful to our team no matter wad, even if Juve were to go to Serie B, but we have to admit that we can't win the title this season. We could have walk out and be glory hunters

Juve: Ban Inter stars, not Ibra Saturday 23 April, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus have launched their appeal against Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s ban with claims that Ivan Cordoba and Sinisa Mihajlovic were the real guilty parties.

“The three-match ban is an injustice,” slammed Fabio Capello. “Video evidence should also be used against those who simulate injury or contact. I am confident our appeal will be successful.”

Ibrahimovic was handed a two-match ban – extended to three because he was set to be suspended for a yellow card anyway – after he was caught on camera striking Cordoba in an off the ball incident during Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Inter.

“You all saw Alessandro Del Piero when he was punched by Leandro Cufre last month and he stood his ground,” continued Capello. “Cordoba fell clutching his face in simulation of a serious injury. This behaviour should also be punished and was clearly unsporting conduct.”

Ibrahimovic is not entirely new to off the ball incidents and was fortunate not to be dismissed earlier in the same game for a head butt on Sinisa Mihajlovic, but Juve again pointed the finger at the Inter players.

“I have always told Zlatan not to react, especially as in Holland he had insulted several referees,” revealed his agent Mino Raiola.

“I am not here to defend him, although I am sure he will mature through this experience. It is nonetheless true that Zlatan was subject to an incredible amount of provocation by the Inter players and especially Mihajlovic, who hurled racist and personal insults at him in Serbo-Croat throughout the match.”

Although Ibrahimovic is a Swedish international, his family is originally Bosnian with both Catholic and Muslim elements, while Mihajlovic is Serbian.

Juve’s lawyers could call in Serb-speaking lip-readers to view the video tapes and judge whether or not Ibrahimovic was subject to extreme provocation, although that would not explain why he struck out at Colombian Ivan Cordoba.

Meanwhile, Capello has other problems to contend with, as Emerson, Ciro Ferrara, Paolo Montero, David Trezeguet, Jonathan Zebina and suspended duo Ibrahimovic and Stephen Appiah have not even made the trip to Rome for Sunday’s match with Lazio. Five youth team players are making up the numbers.

Juventus squad: 1 Buffon, 3 Tacchinardi, 7 Pessotto, 10 Del Piero, 11 Nedved, 12 Chimenti, 15 Birindelli, 16 Camoranesi, 19 Zambrotta, 20 Blasi, 21 Thuram, 22 Bonnefoi, 23 Kapo, 24 Olivera, 25 Zalayeta, 28 Cannavaro, 34 Masiello, 36 De Ceglie, 38 Paolucci, 39 Marchisio, 41 Luci

wow look at how depleted our squad is, I don't think we can stand a chance against Lazio unless the youngsters trigger something.

but he is one of the few in-form players we have, or had in the past couple matches. Nedved isn't doing so well, DP obviously can't be depended on, Trez is injured.....it goes on and on. even Buffon hasn't been so hot
I know he's one of the in-form players, But we shouldn't loose hope just because of the ban.

Forza Juve Per Sempre!

Serie A Preview: Lazio-Juventus
4/23/2005 3:25:00 PM
‘No room for errors’ is Juventus’ slogan as they travel to Rome to play against Lazio. These points become all the more important after losing their three point lead in the Scudetto race following their defeat to Inter on Wednesday.
BACKGROUND

After the defeat they suffered in the derby D’Italia, Juventus cannot afford any more mistakes, as every point lost or won could mean a lot in the end and both sides will be looking to take the advantage before the two giants collide in week 35. A Milan fall against Parma is quite possible, seeing that Milan will be missing Pirlo and Gattusso. Juventus will be desperate to win to keep their Scudetto hopes alive. Capello’s side will have to do without their top scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic as he was handed a 3 match ban after the Inter game. On the other hand Lazio is currently on a good run as they have collected 7 points in the last 3 games. Juventus will be under a stress as Milan will play against Parma first. This game will tell Juve exactly what needs to be done but the Bianconeri can only have one thing on their minds: winning.

TEAM NEWS

Juventus will be missing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, due to the comic ban he received from the Disciplinary Commission after the Inter game, Appiah (suspension) and Mutu due to his global ban. Juvetnus will also be without Trezeguet, Zebina, Montero and Birindelli due to injuries.

Lazio will be missing Seric, Pandev, Manfredini, Sereni and Couto due to injuries.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Rocchi (Lazio)
Rocchi is Lazio’s most on form player at the moment. The italian striker has the pace and the power to cause any defence, even a strong one like Juventus’, many problems. He can create and finish as shown by the many important goals he has scored this season, one to watch out for certainly.

Alessandro Del Piero (Juventus)
After being substituted many times this season and the rumours about the legendary number 10 departure, Del Piero has the chance to set things right and silence his critics as Juventus hopes will hang on him in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet. Many think that Juventus chances in winning are much lower without the suspended Ibrahimovic and the injured Trezeguet and so this is a great chance and time for the Juventus captain to prove his value and worth to the team.

POSSIBLE STARTING XI’s

Juventus (4-4-2):
1 Buffon 34 Masiello 21 Thuram 28 Cannavaro 19 Zambrotta 16 Camoranesi 3 Tacchinardi 20 Blasi 11 Nedved 25 Zalayeta 10 Del Piero

Lazio (4-4-2):
1 Peruzzi 22 Oddo 5 Siviglia 16 Giannichedda 8 Zauri 7 A. Filippini 14 E. Filippini 6 Dabo 10 Cesar 29 Bazzani 18 Rocchi

PREDICTION

When a giant team like Juventus is desperate to win it counts for a lot, even against a great team like Lazio. This game will be one of the hardest games in the season for Juventus and one of the most important games. Lazio’s good form should be put into consideration but Juventus will want to win and motivation should make them favourites. Juventus is a team with the character to win such a hard game.

I really can't see us winning this game without Emerson and to some extent Ibrahimovic. Nedved will really have to pick up his game against his former side.
