Reja: There was a pk and Barzagli should have been sent off.

so ridiculous ^^. i guess he is talking about the scene right after buffons great save? a penalty for this would have been crazy but a red card would have been beyond that... i guess we will end up in seria b next season though. it´s just like italian football seems to work

Reja rage: 'Penalty and red card'
Saturday November 26 2011
Edy Reja raged at the referee after Lazio’s defeat to Juventus. “There was a clear penalty and Andrea Barzagli should’ve been sent off.”

The incident occurred in the first half, when Tommaso Rocchi’s chip over a beaten Gigi Buffon took a deflection off Barzagli’s hand to go off target.

“We were unlucky with the incidents, as there was a clear penalty on Rocchi’s shot and Barzagli should’ve been sent off,”
said the Coach of the 1-0 result.

“Had that been spotted, it was a spot-kick and a straight red card, in my view. Unfortunately, it proved to be decisive. Maybe the referee just didn’t see it, but his decision was very disappointing.”

Simone Pepe snatched the only goal of the game on a classic counter-attack in this top of the table clash.

“We are satisfied with the performance and do not come out of this with our reputation damaged, because we fought on equal terms with Juve.

“It’s true we should have done something more, as we had the chances. It’s a shame we were too tired at the end to really mount an assault for the equaliser.

“Juventus played well and I think it can be their year, also considering they have no European commitments to worry about. We proved tonight that we deserve to be in the top spots and could even have won.”

Would have been harsh, given how quickly the ball changed direction and hit his hand.

Working horse and all..... we need a replacement for this guy. There are games in which he can be of use..... but in games that we need to score and attac he is a liability.
yeah, because he did not score today or the game before and because he did not fuck up the opponents attacks even more, right ?

i really get tired to argue with such simple minded views

lets rather play lazy skilled players like elia or co and watch the opponents just have 70% possession, because we won't regain the ball without the pressure of our "pepes".

the more we run the less stamina will the opponents have and then make mistakes out of fatigue which even a pepe can turn into a goal ...

in todays athletic football its not enough to be skilled... it's not like 30 years ago when some beckenbauer had 5 minutes to trap the ball before the fist opponent wasted the first thought of even getting near him to regain the ball.

i agree
right now pepe is untouchable. people can keep fapping to quagliarella youtube goals but he is just not the guy who should play out there from the beginning (same goes for elia and krasic btw..) . great player(s) to have of course but pepe deserves the starting spot as does bonucci btw.
still i have to agree that we should get an upgrade for the right flank but only after we fixed our CB/LB problems

Some people here in Adelaide have set up a small Juventus supporters group. For this mornings game (6:15am kick-off here) we all met a a cafe to watch the game together. These are some photos of it. You can't tell from the pics but there were 60 of us there this morning.

Was a good morning!

We should have scored at least another goal but I was happy enough with the away win. Forza Juve!

very nice cirillo !

i don't see the marchisio suspension as such a bad thing and playing with the same team for 5 games is not wrong either.

the more games you play as one team with the same team the more bindings between the players will create and the more automatisms will be intact when a new player enters the field. its always easier to get introduced into a working team and that is what pazienza will be able to. just slot in there for marchisio with everything around him working and having learned making smart runs it is obviously much easier for him to simply play the ball to the next player.

pazienza has the advantage of knowing his old team mates so he might even be able to anticipate their build up play and stuff and so be valuable in defense and thats all he needs to do, just like marchisio who did much defensive work today

I litterally just finished watching the game (recorded it, missed due to work), and immediate reaction is what an immensely solid win! Really held it together as a team, could have attacked more then we did, but who cares, held them off well and controlled the game, for the most part. Really nice that throughout, except few exceptions, I felt very comfortable and confident in us holding the lead.
