zebina is definitely out which is a shame as he would've been my choice for the CB because we need a player that could frustrates Anotionio "i lost my Diaper" Cassano to throw him away from his.

i think zanetti is essential for the midfield. Who ever we play in the back we need him in the midfield to steady the flow and start our counter attacks even if we don't play with a 433 as marchionni would be on the right and hes as fast as a bullet.

Biri would be a big no no for CB( just remember the Napoli coppa exit last year), so its either boumsong or grygera partnering hopefully Legro.

The only way that i see winning the game is by putting constant pressure on their defense as its their weakest line.

Oh and we will need to watch for Bellutchi( wrong spelling i think) and Bonazzoli not only cassano.

well if zanetti was to play cb our only option would be to play tiago in the middle. Maybe we can get away with something like this, even though I hate molinaro:

----------------buffon----------------

--grygera--zanetti-legro--molinaro-

-------sali------tiago-----neddy------

----iaquinta-------trez--------DP-----

It's pretty obvious that this will be a high scoring game, I would be shocked if sampdoria don't score. The only thing we have going for us right now is that I don't think any team in serie a can outscore us. If samp. want to play an open styled attacking game we'll be more then happy to oblige.
why the hell tiago agiain???????.......give almiron a chance....:(

Why is it that Trezeguet is never even considered to be left out the starting eleven by the members here?
I was wondering the same thing, Trezeguet is Serie A top Scorer, but sometimes he disappears if there are no enough chances, and our midfield doesnt create many chances to him

Iaquinta is more active and he creates chances besides scoring as well, sure he needs a chance

because trez is not a form player who plays well or poorly, it all depends on the others. you never know when he'll score so you have him there all the time because what we do know is that if he gets a chance, 85%+ times he will score.

Unless some prayers are answered, I think we're hooped for defenders this weekend.

I'd do this though:

------------------------Buffon-------------------------

---Birindelli--Legrottaglie--Grygera--Salihamdizic-

-------Marchionni------Zanetti-----Nedved------

---------Iaquinta-----Trezeguet-----Del Piero-------

Probable Subs: Almiron, Palladino, Molinaro.

Chiellini has a sprained knee. Out for at least a month
After winning against Empoli and qualifying for the next round of the Italian Cup, Juventus went straight back to work in Vinovo, preparing the game against Sampdoria, scheduled for next Sunday. Obviously those employed against Empoli only trained lightly, while the rest of the group carried out technique exercises.

Giorgio Chiellini, who last night had to hobble off the pitch halfway through the first half of the Italian Cup match, underwent a Nuclear Magnetic Resonance test today, which confirmed the first diagnosis by Juventus' medical staff: Giorgio has sprained his right knee, affecting the ligament also. Further lesions were ruled out. He will probably need more than a month to recover, though, so the player should be back on the pitch by the end of February.

On Sunday, Ranieri will have Nicola Legrottaglie back, unavailable against Empoli, and Cristian Molinaro, who suffered an injury against the Tuscans, but will recover in time for the game against Sampdoria.

Here's my twopence worth: -

Buffon
I
Grygera ......Biri......Legro.....Molinaro
I
Marchionni.........Zanetti........ Neddy
I
Vinny.........Trez................Alex

I have to admit, I'd rather have the primavera LB than Molinaro: he does a lot of running about, but not a lot of work, either defensively or offensively. I've opted for Biri as CB rather than Coco the clown, aka Boumsong.

Secco: - bring back Balza and De Ceglie - NOW!

Not too bad. I'd go for that aswell. A good offense is the best defense.

My thoughts exactly. May as well play to the strength of the players available.

Plus, this way Legrottaglie can keep an eye on Biri (who's solid but not overly quick) and Grygera, and Brazzo can also watch Grygera and keep him out of trouble.
